The true High Elf Solution

I’m sure many of you are aware of the mega thread in MMO Champ. Many players keep requesting Helves to be their own Allied Race race. If Helves were to become a reality this would not be the method of implementation. The alliance already got a Belf AR in the form of Velves. High Elves would be lazy and a waste when you still got Gnomes and Worgen yet to get an AR.

I personally don’t see an issue with the way Pandaren were implemented. As high elves and blood elves are the same physical race I see no reason why they can’t have the panda treatment so long as it’s done carefully. Here’s my take on it.

Update eversong/ghostlands and add them to the continent. Lore development would consist of the silver covenant and the void elves beseiging silvermoon with Lorthemar and maybe the Nightborne on the defense.

This would be the major Alliance/Horde conflict for 9.0 and would include a new BG and warfront if blizzard decides to move forward with them. Season 1 PvP gear would have a red and green/blue and silver thalasian theme.

New arenas in Ghostlands and Bloodmist Isle.

New elves choose their alliegnce at the culmination of their starting quests. Blood Elves are changed to Thalasian elves in the creation screen and are then given blood/high after choosing their faction. Elves have brand new customization options including blue, green, and yellow eyes along with many of the options in that thread’s OP.

To compensate for the loss of Belves as a core race, the Horde would receive Vrykul (i personally think vrykul would look nice as a Horde race). I feel Ogres would be better paired with something else, perhaps Arrakoa?

Allied Race Imbalances.

Velves were treated as the Horde swap for Nightborne. If thalasian elves are neutral then it screws with the balance.

Two solutions to this.

In both scenarios the Alliance gets the Kvaldir(vrykul AR swap) to balance out the Nightborne. Horde on the other hand either get…

#1 san’lyan (kinda lame. too many elves,)
or
#2 Pandaren Varient AR (not as lame as pandas don’t have an AR)

Death Knights

The Alliance had high elves during wrath so their intro quests do not need updating. The player chooses their faction after Lights Hope when Darion gives them a choice.

Demon Hunters

This issue has two solutions.

#1 all Thalasian DH are Horde. (Lame solution)

#2 DH intro is revamped and includes multiple races for each faction. (Sweet solution, more content yay)

Now as you can see this route of implementing high elves gives the game a substantial amount of content where as a simple AR obviously does not.

Imagine if Tinkers are also included in 9.0. Omg content overload.

The true solution is to stop making posts about them.

High Elves would be lazy and a waste

They’d be more than lazy and a waste. They’d be an insult to the Horde.

High Elves should never be a playable race. Period.

Horde already got the light skinned Elves as Blood Elves, it should end there. Do not pollute the Horde faction visual brand and identity by giving the Alliance a clone of their race with blue eyes.

I hope Blizzard never caves on this.

Although… there would be one thing I’d be ok trading for it. If they gave the Horde Undead Elves, like you could pick to be one of those cool new undead Night Elves… then I could support granting the High Elves to the Alliance. Otherwise… for me its a solid “no”.

Yeah, okay.
It’s fine for Horde to get Highborne Night Elves (Nightborne) but DON’T TOUCH THE HORDE’S BELVES, THEY’RE OFF LIMITS. Not to mention that the High Elves have been in the Alliance longer than belves have been in the Horde.

Take it to the anti-helf thread.

the alliance got thalassian elves when we got the nightborne though so that really isn’t much of an argument, especially since blizzard took a massive steaming poo on the nightborne playable models, making them a big downgrade from the NPC appearance.

Is there a reason that this was flagged? I mean other than it being posted outside the megathread.

Not only that but Velves really have no logical reason why they should be a full playable race. At best there were about 30 of them that were actually changed in the scenario. There’s even less of them than Argent Dawn survivors from light’s hope.

You guys already touched the horde BE with the void elf… Buf if you get a other model, you would have more blood elf model that the horde have while the horde would only have on night elf model.

Btw wasnt the alliance whining to get the horde elf model but didn’t want the horde the get the night elf model?? And its not like the horde wanted the night elf model model, we wanted the same model as the nightborn npc.

Ps, the horde have more blood elf than the alliance have high elf and have it playable longer…

Alliance always bring up warcraft, well the vast majority of the Thalassian people have broken ties with the Alliance. It was a shaky Alliance to begin with and only a splinter of them decided to remain with the humans rather than defend their homeland and people.

I honestly don’t see the High elves ever attacking Silvermoon, nevermind cooperating with the Void Elves. The Silver Covenant itself still considers Silvermoon their home, and when Halduron requested their aid against the Amani, they came and had no problems cooperating and assisting them. Additionally there are High elves that have voiced the desire to reunify with the Blood Elves like Auric Sunchaser, and many of them reside on Quel’danas with the Blood Elves. Having the elves lead an assault in their own homeland would just feel like the most absurd idea ever.

That is until you mentioned them cooperating with the Void elves, which seems even more outlandish. High elves left Silvermoon because they looked down upon the use of Chaotic magic, even Vareesa herself scorns Theron for reeking of the Fel, and now we’re supposed to be okay with them having no problem with delving into Void magic? You know, one of the few things capable of corrupting and destroying the Sunwell (something Quel’dorei and Sin’dorei draw from collectively. ) High Elves also have great respect for nature, and were sure to build and settle the land in a way that would be harmonious with the local wildlife, while the Void elves are seen openly corrupting the lands in Zandalar, going as far as to directly channel the void into eggs, and corrupt the indigenous creatures.

If High elves are ever introduced, it’s going to be as a customization option for Blood Elves as the Void elves have now taken the center spotlight as the token Thalassian force on the Alliance. It is only a matter of time before the corrupting nature of the Void Elves somehow effects the High elves and causes them to flee back to their families and homes in Silvermoon, to which they’ll likely give Blood Elves blue eyes, and possibly a few other options. Even Ion himself mentioned being open to the idea of giving Blood Elves blue eyes to fulfill the High elf fantasy.

Speak for yourself about San’layn. Vampiric monster elves would be awesome and fit well into the horde especially if they got a set of sharp teeth, black eyes, and ripped ears.

Also yah. What everyone else said. This is spam.

I have not forgotten the love of my elven kin! Tokens give me remarkable freedom in regards to race selection. I want so much to like being a night elf but I couldn’t even take her seriously. It’s like I’m trying to opt out of the most abusive dynamic I’ve ever had with this game, and I find myself being happier every time I race change out of night elf than i was being a night elf. Funny thing is I was more than content as a night elf and never race changed in 7 years. Not until the atrocity that is Nathanos “Self Insert” Blightcaller taking the reins of story development.
