The true end of automated multiboxing is upon us

Well, that’s good news.

It’s pretty weird when there’s more than 1 or 2 what appears to be mice/keyboards connected, as would be necessary for hardware based multiboxing (assuming each is assigned to an instance of WoW). Very few non-boxers have their machines set up like that.

I’m speaking of multiple computers.

Doesn’t actually cost much to have a computer that can run wow on low settings. We have like 5 sitting around here thanks to work leftovers.

That’s where serverside detection would kick in, in which case roughly analogous movements coming from multiple machines looks pretty fishy, even with things like proxies involved.

Good. The old “no software mirroring” was likely a liability anyway with them having to spend extra time checking every cheater.

Damn right I enjoy those things.

Ways around that pretty easy honestly.

Just have to make sure there’s (random) delays on when the key strokes get sent so they’re not all being sent at once.

Nah, if anything this just opened up the market for more bots since there is less competition again, not there was much boxing going on this expansion anyway. Less competition means more profit means more bots. Boxers actually played their characters, bots have no player, they are scripted.

Enjoy.

This is good news.

And just in time for flying release to put a massive dent in druid multibox herb farming.

They are only 20 years too late!

There really wasn’t that many multiboxers left honestly, I barely see any.

Most I see is 2, and those are usually manual multiboxers, not mirrorers

Hmmmmmmm. I’ll let my friend know.

Classic cat and mouse basically, but there’s some things that are hard to avoid, like a cluster of characters hitting the same nodes, or staying with a certain distance of each other for long periods. As long as multiboxing doesn’t look exactly like normal gameplay there’s tells to latch onto.

Cracked me up.

/follow would fix the distance issue

And you can still multibox, just supposed to it manually.

I can fit like 6 instances in boxes on my monitor and it would be like… maybe 4-5 seconds to click a gathering node on each? Bigger/better monitors you could get even more. So it wouldn’t be weird to have clusters of characters on one node.

Guess we will find out next year when they finally decide to do a ban phase. Until then everyone will keep toodling along in the same way they always have.

They actually sent out suspensions for isboxer users pretty quickly after they sent out the warnings.

TBC flying. Shadowlands flying. Thisd brings them out of the woodworks due to being able to fly and herb in massive amounts with multiboxing.

Its alot more difficult to cross terrain on foot/ground mount but as soon as the ability to fly comes in to play, a simple height increase drops combat to allow you to get that easy node.
