The true end of automated multiboxing is upon us

I wonder if token sales go up. Guess we’ll have to watch the price of them

The only people that “care” about the people on the forum. You rarely, if ever, heard complaints in-game about boxers. If it wasn’t for the forum many people wouldn’t even know what to be mad at.

Very doubtful. There weren’t many boxers left, especially this expansion.

I’m more thinking in terms of possible increase cost in mats/consumables. But I’m just shooting from the hip here, I don’t really follow the AH because callings net good coin for the little content I do.

What’s your point anyway? You asserting that it wasn’t because of user feedback is just as meaningless as someone else saying it was. You don’t know. Blizzard decided based on whatever metrics / analysis they did on their own. That might be forums. It might be consultation with a magic 8-ball. They might have a voodoo witch doctor on staff. We don’t know.

Regardless, as you’ve read, most us are happy about it. We’re not saying “we did it” / “we made it happen”, we’re just saying we’re glad.

In this context, that’s a compliment.

I’m sure on some servers it’s fine. On some it’s not.

I remember arguing with some multiboxer on this form before classic came out that multi-boxing is cheating and essentially a pay-to-win system. He bent himself into a pretzel trying to explain it away. I would have prefered this at the start of classic but better late than never I guess.

Screw anyone who multiboxes yall suck.

Why?

As with all things

All blizz is doing is cutting off more money from their subs, but hey, when you can afford a 200 million dollar bonus, who cares, right?

What would be helpful is a direct answer as to WHY?

Why does one want 10 accounts? If the answer is greed I’d like to hear these players straight up say it. No posturing - just say it and tell me it doesn’t harm other player’s chances or inflate AH prices. Instead of bragging.

Why not?

It’s a way to play the game. Some of us have plenty of disposable income and it doesn’t matter to us.

I’ve crashed plenty of markets. That doesn’t mean to inflate, btw, that means to bring prices so low that it’s almost not worth others to sell at that time. I’ve never heard anyone complain about it except for the people who play the AH and rip others off.

Why what?

Not really a straw man when you say

In response to

I asked you a specific question. Do you think people should be able to pay their way to advantages and you said yes because others can just dump time that others can’t. That was a very specific question and you gave a very specific response to it.

I’m not twisting your argument in any capacity. You said yes to letting people dump money into WoW for advantages which you seem to think is twisting your argument because I pointed out all the other aspects of the game that should be considered for ways to buy into advantages into the game if we’re going down that route.

So I’ll ask you again: Do you think people should be able to dump money into in-game advantages in WoW? Because if you’re going to say yes you should consider all the ways players can dump their money into the game to get their advantages.

It blows my mind that people who think themselves more intelligent than the norm cannot understand what representative sampling is or how it works.

No one has ever said most of the player base, or even a significant number of the player base, has a forums account. For that matter, everyone pretty much knows the opposite is true. If there are 2MM active subscribers right now, simply sitting here and hitting refresh for 15 minutes, then counting posts and extrapolating the post/time vector, would tell them it’s a fraction.

But that’s not the point. Just as presidential polling only reaches a small percentage (or even a percentage OF a percentage) of voters, the results it yields is right far more often than it is wrong.

TL, DR: The forums are a slim minority of the playerbase, but the opinions expressed here are typically just as accurate as if you’d polled everyone. The only thing that would shift the vector somewhat is true casuals are undersampled.

100% not true.

Many players come to the forum when they are upset, hang out for a while and you’ll see. There is a hivemind of hate towards both the game and Blizzard on the forum, there always has been and always will be.

Rip others off? Some people just like to make a little extra gold by legitimately farming mats. Some people like to farm mats to support their crafting. Multiboxers are a nuisance, a plague, a pest, that needs to be eradicated. They make the game worse for people who are legitimately trying to play it. Congrats on crashing AHs, are you looking for a pat on the back for that?
