I cannot count how many times I get some elitist complaining or sending me a tell with just the most toxic behavior. Its actually starting to become off putting. I want nothing more than to play TBC aka the best time in wow EVER. But I sit here considering uninstalling due to how many crappy people play this game. Too much sandy/salty people to ignore this time around… Usually I dont say anything but wow its so salty here I feel dehydrated.

A good guild matters the most imo. Ignore general chat and how others play or talk means nothing. They can’t block your play or enjoyment.
This is not a WoW problem. This is a gaming problem. League of Legends, Rainbox 6 siege, Counter Strike, Call of Duty… you name any large mutliplayer game and I guarantee you it’s a toxic cesspit of adolescent trolls, racists and misogynists. Gaming’s largest demographic is the proverbial “rootless young male” and that is the most toxic group on the planet.

I bailed on classic fairly early on. It became clear very quickly that classic was nothing like the community we had on vanilla pservers. To be fair, even that community started to go down hill with Elysium/Lights Hope.
Honestly up until the prepatch I ran into alot of nice folks for the most part. There are a ton still out there, but the salt miners are in force post prepatch. Oh and I cant do retail. Not a retail hater just isnt fun for me TBH.
So here’s the rub. Blame Blizzard. They abandoned “#NoChanges”, continued to ignore the plague of RMT, allow “White Knight”/Fanboiz to harrass and infect the forums preventing logical discussion, have broken the pre-patch, and clearly have left an unacceptable amount of bugs in TBCc. They had time to fix all of this, but Bobby and Activision need their “pretty” to show shareholders at the beginning of June.
Everything happening right now, EVERYTHING, is avoidable with a little effort and management.

You seem to be pretty unlucky… I’ve been playing consistently and don’t have any negativity towards me. People grouping up to help with quests, maybe we both on the same… don’t let it tear you down dude. I feel like the majority of the community is solid.
I’m not a fan of retail either. I’ve only returned for TBC to burn a few months until a certain beta starts.

Its happened to me a few times like just now I got called trash cause I used drain soul on a fast dying target at around 50%. I needed the shard and the target was dying FAST so yeah. But this is mostly the hate and trash I see spewed around to others mostly. I see /spit and just really uneeded trash going on and its off putting.

Yeah the 2 week prepatch and screwing with the game made me salty but it isnt making me take out my anger randoms. Blizz wanting to up their Q2 earnings for shareholders on some random person playing the game.
That sucks, just ignore idiots like that… they’ll amount to nothing and are taking it out on everyone around them, instead of looking inward.
Dude, it’s insane the number of people coming out trying to defend Blizzard at the moment. And they’re all being toxic against anyone not happy right now.
But whatever you do, don’t call them out, light forbid.
The people who are upset have NO WHERE to complain at the moment. They’re super frustrated and Blizzard is letting their army of sycophants run loose at the moment.
