he biggest factors seem to be Completion, Time, Deaths and Empowered.

This isn’t correct…
100 - Completion
50 - Time
50 - Empowered
150 - Bonus Objectives

The Bonus Objectives are worth 3x more than the Time or the Empowered. You can obviously do a blend, but lots of people seem to hate the timer. If the timer upsets you, just ignore it and focus on Completion & Bonus Objectives.

Basically 1 Death tanks your run, if you are trying to 4 star it. Why remove the death count, when they are still going to severely punish deaths? Have a bad pull or get gibbed by a mechanic and die? Best to just zone out and start over. The odds of a 4 star are toast.

I agree with you 100% on this one though… Most should get 1 free death because of the permanent upgrade thing from Ve’nari. But 2 deaths and it’s dicey, 3 deaths and you might as well start over if you are trying to unlock the next layer (otherwise you can completely ignore the deaths & score). You used to get 5 free deaths and now it’s effectively down to 1 or 2.

Some classes are built to burn through Torghast. Others simply cant.

For those that can’t (or just don’t want to worry about a stupid timer) they should focus on Bonus Objectives as noted in the two threads below.

You can 4-star Torghast while ignoring the Timer (I did)

Took my ilvl 196 alt through Layer 9 of Torghast solo, knew my time would stink, so figured I’d focus on going slow and steady and see what would happen: [image] 32 minutes over par time, still got 4 stars to advance to Layer 10 next week ilvl 196 character solo run Box of Many Things not active (1st 9.1 run for this character) My floor times: Floor 1: 12:52 (par time was 6:28) Floor 2: 18:09 (par time was 6:00) Floor 4: 19:26 (par time was 8:27) Look at the extra points list on wowhead…

Why take away the timer, only to add it back?
Why encourage to play at your own pace, then force the AoE speed run? (Empowered Bar and timer)

Again, timer can be ignored and still get a 4 or 5-star run. I will agree that “raising the bar” to unlock the next layer feels bad (esp. as you had to look it up on wowhead to even get there if you weren’t one of those that got it completely by accident).
