The secret forum that exists is not helping

Thanks for that… You were not exaggerating. Still doesn’t mean blue posts should have gone away. That is just caving to the mentally ill… I stand by my statement and opinion on it. Blue posts are good for the forum, Twitter is much worse than anything that happens here.

if blues were posting all the time a large number of people would be permanently banned. they respond on twitter and reddit all the time. the forums could not handle the 1k year bans people used to get. in this age of people saying any sort of punishment for terrible behavior being “cancel culture” it’s really just them protecting us from ourselves. GC used to throw people under the bus. that wouldn’t fly in 2021. lol

Blizzard has control over their forum, they don’t control Reddit or Twitter. It would make sense to me to post more on their forums that they control. One thing is for certain with blue posts or not, this forum needs better moderation. You think differently and thats ok…

yes. they BANNED for harassment. they BLOCK on twitter/reddit. you can still use twitter/reddit even if they keep you from annoying them. if you’re banned on the forums its gg for you.

i am pro moderation. but with how few people post here vs being on regular social media, it would make the forums dead.

It doesn’t exist to improve the game, it exists to stroke their collective egos.

thats how it should be… go on any other forum on the internet, if you harrass the mods or admins you get banned. Blizzard tends to moderate with a wet noodle which leads to what we have now, and no blue posts.

I disagree… Maybe at first, but the message would be made very clear.

these forums are much more moderated. took days for someone shouting the N word and threatening devs to be removed from HS forums. something like that gets immediate response here. most of the other blizz games are like HS not like wow.

I guess the real question is, do you feel like your getting your money worth nowadays?

filtering words is alot different than removing obvious trolls and off topic threads… Those stay up far too long. People create outlandish troll threads because they know they can get away with it… At least the occasional blue post drove some sort of focused discussion, even with the occasional bad apple.

Oh look at you, aren’t you cute, thinking the Devs are listening in the ‘secret forum’.

MANY of the current concerns/complaints/negative feedback, were shared with the devs from early alpha to before beta was released to a larger audience.

About the only thing that has come out of the forum has been the screen shots that made it to twitter and the fact that now people know about the worst kept secret of these forums. (Yes plural - there is also a content provider discord too)

Very astute point.

I’m not up in arms over covenants. But I will say that switching from Venthyr to Night Fae was a very good experience on live. A decision that felt like it had a lot of consequence.

And I think Blizz should be encouraging people to experiment more with covenant abilities. Right now people are acting like switching covenants is like switching specs back when there was a big penalty for doing so too many times. And that doesn’t feel good.

Right now when people make their covenant choice they don’t really know what their getting into so the choice doesn’t feel as significant as it should.

We already know about the backdoor discord channels BlizZard has with theory crafters. But then again it just reinforces the point.

All this secrecy with backdoor discord channels, secret private forums, etc. Is the game better yes or no?

I am going to say a big fat NO.

Blizzard only listens to players when they are dragged kicking and screaming to the point. They have gambled over and over on “We know best”, and their PTR has always been a joke. Always.

That being said, I am losing my mind laughing over people calling it a secret forum. Like, every game has those. They’re just usually filled with in house testers.

A few good ideas here and there, but yeah. These forums are nothing but whining and complaining about how the game is dying, it only makes sense to receive feedback from reasonable players.

You are so right…lets go communicate directly to BlizZard’s Q/A team…oh wait. :frowning:

I know you’re joking, but the life of a QA tester is hellish with a high turnover rate. I cannot imagine what it’s like in Blizzard right now. I might have started a fire somewhere.

You can only see so many hostile posts from the devs (quite a few notable ones in Legion) and so many design failures, along with Activision’s antics, before you just lose the ability to be given good faith.

At this point what happened in legion should be in the rear view mirror. What matters is the present and future.

Want to turn around systemlands? Start listening and reading from players.

that and I think many people here don’t even play the game, or not much anymore.

The devs need to be communicating with players that are heavily invested in playing through the content, and that give honest feedback.

blaming the game because you’re bad at it, is not the type i’d want to have a discussion with, as a dev trying to fix a struggling game.

I heard from a source i consider to be reliable that they do a lot of their community outreach on private discord servers though…so not sure how impactful the forum is these days lol
