Do you think limiting the mythic plus max ilvl loot to around 20-30 ilvls higher than a mythic dungeon would be a good band-aid? I would be okay with that I think. I want hard 5 man content to do that’s not mythic+. That would give people hard 5 man content that’s not a rush environment something to do while keeping those that like m+ better rewards.
The raids have been getting better and better but the rewards from doing them not so much. With the exception of a few raid specific pieces(weapons, trinkets) there’s no reason to enter the raid as it is now and world quests/caches/m+ offer better gear than you can get in the raid via RNG titanforging.
The path to progression in the game now is just a lottery system they developed in legion with legendaries and instead of getting them you get a random high ilvl piece of gear and it feels absolutely terrible. I never feel rewarded when I get one and I feel like I was given a piece of gear that belongs to a mythic raider.
For you maybe. If they removed the current raid tier entirely I probably wouldn’t even notice. I’d have limited weapon choices, but since the odds of me getting into a PUG normal are near zero I guess the naz WB wep will have to suffice. I’d like to see the LFR version, but Uldir was nothing but trolls (in gear 10-15 levels above LFR ) purposefully borking mechanics that made it a miserable experience. So I didn’t run BoD at all.
Raiding has been killed by the raiding community. Raiders troll and AFK LFR because they think it’s beneath them, which screws over the casuals who would otherwise enjoy seeing the raid.
Gone are the days when I’ll support this game if all the content is gated behind the raiding community. Not gonna pay for the development ot stuff I can’t participate in. As long as I have a path I can reasonably progress my toons to a level I think is acceptable I’ll play, but take that away and its FF14 getting my money.
I don’t mind things challenging, I don’t mind difficulty, but it has to be queuable or easily puggable.
As nice as it can be to have challenging content… Cata made everything overly complicated for the average player. Every boss had raid style mechanics and made it unpleasant to pug. And no it’s not a matter of “git Gud noOb”
I can’t speak for anyone else but I couldn’t care less about that.
Considering you’re suggesting a low end cap of a +5 wf on normal raid tier, the loot in m+ wouldn’t even last a week for anyone with significant free time.
I joined at the end of wrath and had my own guild in cata and was pugging all the content the entire expansion. You can look up Danteû on stonemaul for proof. So I vehemently reject your claims that it was overly complicated for the average player. I was new and doing this stuff so there’s no reason someone else with no background knowledge can’t do it themselves.
The nerfs to dungeons and no longer requiring thought and planning to do stuff drives me crazy and just makes everything boring. We need to make use of class mechanics and have meaningful 5 man content outside of mythic+.
I literally was pugging the entire expansion and always had to deal with attendance issues. I linked you my toon from then so you can check achievements and see I’m not lying when I claimed to have joined and what I pugged with zero knowledge of how the game worked.
I don’t think that’s what it’s about really. I’ve seen capable players complaining. I think it’s because the current Mythic/Mythic+ system has trained the players base to expect something much different than what Mechagon is.
I ran the Cat heroic dungeons in LFD but that’s not the same thing. The air temple the 1st time I healed it was the 1st time I was ever kicked from a group, I’d run it as dps but didn’t know I (and only I) was supposed to dispel static cling. I still see that as an example of how not to design harder content, trial and error to figure out mechanics that will kill you, simple once you figure them out.
