GDKP runs were happening on the OG US Gilneas server at the end-of-life stages of Vanilla. We had one, maybe two guilds who were clearing Naxx. Once their core team was fully geared, they started running gold runs.
You’re free to believe whatever you need to to make yourself feel comfortable about your own WoW gaming experience I’m just telling you what I saw.
It really hasn’t, I didn’t hear a single person talk about it or do it in OG vanilla. I was in a very well connected raid guild that talked a lot with other progression guilds and played like 18 hours a day back then. People carried friends etc. but did not really run full blown GDKPs until later, beginning a little around TBC and picking up in WOTLK.

You have any proof of this? I’ve heard a few goldbuyers try and push this narrative but never back it up. Until I see something this is just the thief believing everyone steals and always has.

I have played this game since Vanilla beta. I was on Shattered Hand - one of the world first servers with a lot of a high lvl raiders. GDKP wasn’t a thing.
So your source on this is “trust me bro”? Its odd that only the people that defend p2w are the only people that were aware of this happening. More likely people are just lying to justify their deviant behaviors, its a typical strategy of those types.
I have also played/raided since 2004 on Azgalore and never once saw a GDKP. It appears as though the p2w kiddos believe they can gaslight everyone.

GDKPs promote RMT as you are buying end game gear, instead of being limited to just random preraid bis or leveling gear on the AH.
That is why GDKPs are bad.
RMT has the biggest effect in GDKP raids vs any other content that RMT is involved. If you don’t care about the RMT problem then you don’t have to worry about this conversation. If you do then you better not be high roading RMT in any other way. If you are defending GDKP.

My point was never about the popularity of the GDKP loot method.
I would pay gold for the epics in bfd. Tbh if conevert the hours I spend in raiding withou upgrades into my pay rate. I would have enough money to max out 3,4 toons
