Correct. I play a Druid now and don’t have any of the mage tower forms. But you know what? That was my decision. I chose not to level my Druid and take him thru mage tower even as Blizzard warned it was going away. Thus I now deal with the consequences of my choice.
Some would say well why didn’t you get it then. Where were you?
Well I was moving my assets out of 0.0 in eve as I prepared to leave eve to give wow a go. No universal bank in eve. You leave 10 billion in gear in 0.0…its pita to get out when you drop corp/alliance.
I came late legion. and I believed all the people going you must not boost your first char. You will miss everything! Slow level it soak in all of wow.
So first weeks of legion start for me I believed this crap about slow level and…then boosted week out till prepatch event. I’d have made mage tower sooner if I didn’t listen to the boost are evil crowd.
My bad for listening to bad advice. I learned from that. Now I tell all to use them boosts. Then…go back and see old wow. At least you have the char that can run current content.
Now why no rants on old stuff…except for OCD mog hunters (myself included) not many go bonkers to collect up lower rez stuff from the past.
Mage tower…was a nice mog in that hi rez trend legion was in.
Pvp titles…not on OCD collectors plates. We live for the carebear stuff. 2 paladins is 2 chances at paladin mog x. And thus…2 paladins are leveled to 60 to smash legacy raid.
Also I don’t think you can find the open world pvp in wod to even get pvp titles tbh. It was liked, and still is, for massive bonus objective spam between dungeon hits.
If looking to cherry pick noobs for titles…you’d go to BFA. New players can’t fly there, players like me never got PF there so yeah…we can’t fly off. Land and gank…
This is not an excuse to get access to something that was limited in time. Too bad for you that you missed it. There are a lot of things I missed in wow because I wasn’t playing but I know I am not entitled to them anymore.
C’est la vie. I want the pre patch Judgement recolor and those devs couldn’t even do that for the rehashed corrupted blood prepatch for SL. Sometimes you miss out, use the thousand other mogs available.
that is true too. Ulduar is my new main haunt. So many treasures there. Still not sure how to work with with non AOE spammers. You pull lots of mobs to the first boss. So many mobs…lol.
Not down for the tank battle bit. I like hunters and rogues. Rush the door, BReak that aggro, kill boss, break that second aggro and move on. Lock has to go here soon. Affliction not big on the aoe hunter multishot style…will work something out. ALways do.
I can’t tell if that’s sarcasm or not, so I’ll list stuff for others, in case people took it seriously. Apologies if I missed your sarcasm.
Elite PvP and every single Challenge mode PvE, along with some weapons from Vanilla like Anathema/Benediction and the legendary cloak from Mists, etc. all gone.
I finished mage tower with 36/36. There was nothing but time in that expansion especially towards the end where it was must easier achieving those runs vs doing it day 1. Anytime there’s limited content, you either capitalize on it or you sleep on it. If you really wanted it, you would have it. Some people feel the necessity that they need to own everything but the reality is you don’t. I made the effort to do it on all my characters because I have a habit of being flexible and thinking ahead.
I don’t think they should bring them back. However, I will welcome a new challenge mode with new rewards. Exclusives are nothing new as they exist everywhere and they are a goal/initiative for some people to return to or continue playing the game during that time. Some can argue it’s predatory practice to sorta force people to play during those periods but I think the time period that WoW offers you to pursue limited content is pretty generous in comparison to other sources.
There were periods in the game that I missed out on things that are no longer obtainable or hit for gold cap on the black market auction house for things I was too lazy to farm. Never got my legendary cloak from MoP because I dodged that expansion, or bothered for any of the unique elite sets in WoD or Legion PvP even though some of them looked great.
don’t forget some mounts like the tiger from old ZG before they revamped it - still salty I didn’t manage to get it to drop for me before that - even after they greatly buffed the drop rate >.<
It’s for reasons like that, I hate “exclusive” content. I no longer have the time to spend in WoW that I used to when I was in high school - university. My bread and butter in WoW is farming old raids for mounts and transmog these days. And I hate removing content (I include items and stuff in content); I feel that it really devalues the game, IMO.
With the OG Tiger, I was soloing the place on multiple characters the moment I was able to, and didn’t get it to drop once even after they buffed the drop rate.
Oh, another Mage Tower post. I was getting worried, its been hours since the last one.
Or better still, create new and interesting skins/mogs and put them in current content. That works for me. And never, ever, time limit anythings in the game because someday, someone will want it. (Can I have the Black Qiraji Battle Tank mount please because hell, just not being in the game during TBC and able to earn it then, thqt’s no excuse! Achievements earned through great effort? Prooey.)
I didn’t even get any of the items and I played all through legion. Had my chance. If they bring them back somehow cool, if not, cool. Idc either way tbh.
I was able to get 36/36 while skipping every other lockout, maintaining some semblance of a social life, and spending time with my family, wife, and kids. Functionally, I would get in 2-3 hours every second week. Every now and again, I would sacrifice a little sleep to get attempts in. Because I used that time efficiently, and took advantage of the myriad catch-up mechanisms available, I was able to crank it all out. When I started, I only had two classes at the level cap.
I made sure that my friends were aware of the limited nature, and if they saw something they liked, I advised them on how to get it.
This isn’t bad design. It’s a lack of personal foresight.
I’m still bitter that I didn’t transfer off my server and ruin another server’s gong event, but you don’t see me making threads about it every other day because I missed my chance.
