Gosh I wish they had acted quickly when sharding was messed up for alliance.
Butthurt detected.
I just opt out. Not my cup of tea. I’ve had a real mixed bag the few times I’ve done it. Just isn’t as fun as something that’s a bit more even. 100 v 20 is a slaughter, not a competition.
It’s not meant to be a competition.
That’s why Blizzard created Battlegrounds and Arena, for folks looking for a more fair and even match up.
But what is the fun in steamrolling? Its like an NBA team vs. A high school basketball team. Its borderline bullying.
the fun is that it makes the world a very dangerous place to be in.
Thinking of it like 2 teams is a huge misunderstanding of what World PvP is.
It’s not borderline bullying. If you don’t want to be in a world that is incredibly dangerous where 40 man raid can run up on you and one shot you, then you don’t turn on War Mode.
There is no reason for any player who does not agree to those terms to turn War Mode on. None.
It is basically only two teams by design. Its not FFA so the danger is half fake and you always have buddies with or near you unless you’re just getting ganged.
I did world PvP in older MMOs when everything didn’t have to be super balanced and rewards could be more than disposable gear.
It was a little less infuriating when you got stomped trying to take a castle or start a village than when you were trying to pick an herb and some guy kills you for 2 points and a laugh.
That’s only because you refuse to understand what World PvP actually is. I can’t help you there. You’re hiding behind your own ignorance at this point.
You didn’t play World PvP if you were safe picking flowers while other people were fighting over castles.
The faction system makes WoW Wpvp a mess.
Lineage would let you kill anyone, anywhere.
Incorrect. DAoC had 3 factions and it works just fine. Shadowbane had no factions and it worked just fine. Eve Online has 4 factions that aren’t really factions and it works just fine.
The problem isn’t WoWs World PvP. The problem is YOU.
So would Shadowbane. What’s your point?
It mean there wasn’t already a prefabbed protection of being on the “right” faction. When you’re default 3 to 1 you already have an advantage whether you admit it or not.
Its bad, its a bad game to play. I’m glad you enjoy it but it isn’t really good.
Baloney. You don’t think it’s “good” simply because you are obsessed with the world being a fair one.
If you don’t like that world PvP isn’t fair, there a really easy solution to YOUR problem and that is you don’t turn on War Mode.
Oh this OP made some cool points, this is definitely not a Bump.
What is a downvote?
The OP of this thread actually has the best description of the problem, it’s validity, and gives a solution moving forward very much deserving of more attention given the state of the topic on the forums.
What the Maw looked like for Alliance: There’s Horde here, whisper me for invite to raid
What the Maw looked like for Horde: There’s Alliance here, please help
Other Horde: wtf no form your own group leave me alone
Not our fault we figured out how to work around the sharding issue because we spent an entire expansion being outnumbered and had to.
