The ranking system is abusive and unhealthy and therefore needs a simple fix

No changes are necessary. Just don’t do it if it doesn’t suit you. I think Pathfinder is moronic and offensive, so I don’t do it. The end.

All I heard was DO IT :smiling_imp:

I am pretty sure there is a safe space you can go cry in. If not, try your closet.

I can’t wait for the account sharers to get banned and lose everything. They won’t get away with it like they did 15 years ago. Not only are there improved methods at detecting it, people WILL report cheaters when they see them. The forum drama will be epic when the ban hammer comes down.

Really frustrating when someone who literally knows nothing about the system tries to educate you about the thing they have no idea about.

Honor ----> Standing —> Rank Points gained Based on Standing

This is a bid system. There is a minimum participation requirement to entry but the actual rank points are given based on your standing.

OK, CHINA!

This is why changes are a slippery slope. We have dumb decisions like this addon nerf and now there’s a sea of requests pouring out because people know that Blizzard is willing to change the game.

standing is very, very liberal in the low ranks. Rank 10 is really easy to get. Honor earned each week and rank points earned are very close in these lower ranks.

Beyond rank 10, your standing becomes very important. Look around . . . last week nearly everyone was Grunt. This week Sergeant and above. Next week most will by the upper level sergeants and there will be some Stone Guards.

Anyone who wants the Rank 10 blue set can have it in 3-4 months with 8000 honor points a week. And that is easy to get, especially when the BGs start up in a week and a half.

I made Rank 12 in Vanilla with solo play. I know full well how the system works and how easy the ride to rank 10 was . . . and how reaching 11 and 12 became much, much harder.

lol rank 10 is not 8k points a week? what are you even talking about. Especially not these days.

It’s blizzard’s business.
You can play 12 hour of bg and 12 hour of CoD. No ones stopping you

The ranking system is unhealthy and encourages cheating (multiple people playing one account 24/7). Blizzard already abolished it once and should not have resurrected for Classic.

Classic is all about resurrection.

Too many people didn’t quite understand what “You think you do, but you don’t” meant. There are a lot of good and bad things in Vanilla. Classic isn’t designed to subjectively pick and choose.

Don’t you think there’s enough people on earth already

Rank 10 is not a low rank. Especially when more than 10% of PvPers are putting in 60+ hours of PvP a week. The bid for just rank 8 is freaking 40+ hours a week. It’s completely unheard of.

In Vanilla it was kinda ridiculous to see more than 1% of PvPers to put in that kind of time and was about the bid needed to hit rank 14 on most servers.

LMFAO you act like blizzard made you go for rank 14. Gtfo :rofl::rofl:

Uhhhh Battlegrounds is going to make it even easier to grind for. Que for a BG and go Wpvp while you wait. EZ PZ

Balance isn’t something this game really needs, it’s design doesn’t need to be tweaked.

We’re here to enjoy a game from 15 years ago, not create some new abomination “Best Hits WoW”

It’s a horrible system and if there is anything that test the bounds of whether #nochanges is based on reason or dogma, this is the issue.

It rewards an outrageous mindless grind and cheating. I don’t have problem with the distribution of higher ranks only being a few people but the way they are selected is horrible.

But I’d be surprised if it changes. Even in a few weeks when people start to realize just getting rank 11 will take back to back 60 hour weeks and the majority come to terms with how bad it really is. It’s in Blizzards best interest to get people playing the store game and if they can push people in that direction while hiding in the shade of #nochanges they will.

I remember in the pre-patch for TBC we had lvl 60 arenas ; even having this as an alternative to the grindy honor system using a straightforward skill based system (and maybe RBGs) for the same rewards would be a great move by Blizz in my opinion. This grind is dismal and really quite depressing to a majority of players.

So just the amount of time that would aloow you to compete, am i right?

The issue with the honor system is the other players, not the system itself.

You could hit R14 doing 1 hour of pvp a week, if that gave you 10k honor verses eveyone else if they did 2 hours a week for 9k. It soley depends on the total amount of honor earned per week in regards to everyone else that ranked that week.
