The ranking system is abusive and unhealthy and therefore needs a simple fix

This R14 system encourages people to play an unhealthy amount of time (18+ hours a day, 7 days a week). As such, there should be a limit on the number of hours a day someone can spend in the battlegrounds (like 10-12 hours is reasonable).

This will solve other issues with the honor system, like discouraging account sharing, that skews who ranks up and who doesn’t (arguably unfairly). Only the best groups will get standing #1 in the allotted time per week (as it should be), not the person who pushes their body and mind to the limits of human endurance. There is nothing ‘honorable’ about that.

We already have changes, they nerfed the Spy addon (correctly I might add).

That doesn’t mean we need more changes.

We already have changes so lets just keep making more and more changes?
No thanks

The time consuming parts only a portion of the problems with the honor system. There’s a reason it was dropped in favor of actual rankings starting in BC.

That said, people want it regardless of how messed up it is, and would freak out if it were changed. Not really worth changing, IMO.

Most people will never get R14, so I doubt people would freak out if they were limited to playing 10-12 hours a day in battlegrounds.

NO, this is not China.

Limit your own playing time. What I do is none of your business.

The problem isn’t so much the effect any one change will have on players, it’s the message sent by Blizzard if they dared to add a change without a valid reason.

It did get fixed. We get arena in TBC.

THE RANKING SYSTEM IS ABUSIVE AND UNHEALTHY AND THEREFORE NEEDS A SIMPLE FIX

Sir, the fix was TBC, WotLK and other systems.

Also R14 system is a bid system and there are people doing 20-24 hours a day 7 days a week. So even if you put in 40-60 hours a week, it’s not anywhere near enough to even rank up. This HYPER competitive atmosphere makes ranking impossible for people who play 4-8 hours a day…which used to be rank 10-14 amounts of play.

Remember hearing crazy stories how people were so hooked on vanilla wow. Like those parents who neglected their baby and it died or that Korean guy who starved to death because he played so hardcore and didn’t eat

yea as a P server player, vanilla enthusiast for years, and former #nochanges person… i agree. This system is complete garbage trash and needs to be changed ASAP before someone ruins their life. It rewards acc sharing, that is all, and if u don’t acc share then you are risking your life to get trash epics which get out-done by AQ gear anyway.

What a dumb dumb system. Has nothing to do with PvP skill at all.

Are you setting it to the time you are spending? I notice a lot of these subjective things tend to align this way. It’s a bid system and the bid for rank 10 feels like 70-80 hours, the bid for rank 14 right now is 100-168 hours.

Probably going to be mostly inactive until the weekly bid goes down rather than yelling at blizzard to put a cap on the bid.

That’s how the system worked. Blizzard isn’t trying to make a good game, they are trying to take you back in time.

Your idea is bad and you should feel bad.

It’s just the opposite, you should feel bad for supporting such an oppressive system.
