Idk, they put mog and mounts in literally everything now. People woulda been confused if they hadn’t.
It’s just an easy way to boost engagement that they use universally now, I don’t think it suggests anything.

No one is forced to play anything. Any counter-argument to that is your inability to control FOMO. You need to figure that out. It’s on you.

Meh you may be right, but then why not make it mogs for PS only? My guess is then the engagement numbers would have been pretty low after the first day or two. I can only speak for myself but if there were no retail rewards I would not have played past the first day. Its not unfun, its just not fun enough to play consistently and there are far better BR offerings in the market for free if thats your cup of tea. But meh again, who knows exactly what Blizz was thinking and my comment is speculation only.

This is the question innit.
No retail gameplay power it’s just mount, title and glamour. Yet people are treating it like they are forced to play it.
Power resets with next season/expansion, but transmog and mounts last.

Blizzard has literally said “Season 4 is coming in a few weeks.” and there were a lot of changes in the 10.2.6 patch notes to facilitate that.
Maybe if you actually read them, you’d know that.
The problem with Plunderstorm is that people keep posting about it in the General Discussion forum instead of the Plunderstorm forum!
Do I hate Plunderstorm… yes. But I dislike all Battle Royal games. Do I hate Blizz for making Plunderstorm, no. They made a mini game that players enjoy, so good. I just think they made a lot of mistakes on how the presented to players. Locked it behind a paywall for no logical reason (it could of been a great gateway to get non-wow players to “try out WoW”) Trying to say there are any form of “PvE” in Plunderstorm says either they have no clue what PvE means, or the morons in marketing are showing how clueless they are. (There is no PvE in Plunderstorm. It is PvP with NPC’s. Or PvPvE). I also feel that only the first 5 or 10 tiers should have WoW specific rewards, and the rest should of been unlocks for Plunderstorm (skins, effects, emotes, etc). They say things are temporary, but who are they fooling? We all know this will be back, stop lying Blizz. My best guess is Blizz made the subscribers all beta testers for an upcoming stand alone title.

Yup, it works for Duos cause it is essentially 30 teams.
I have gotten far more enjoyment from DUOs even playing with randoms than I did in solo mode.
I be willing to bet reducing the numbers in solo would have a similar effect
I agree. I don’t “hate it” per se but if I was going to play a BR, I’d go play a proper BR (that’s also free

IMO without the main game rewards, I doubt they’d have as many people playing

oh i did it because i wanted the rewards. i just shared my displeasure in agreement with thousands of other posters / players about these rewards for retail wow being locked behind a totally different game.
now if you have nothing to add to the conversation as in your personal likes or dislikes about the event you can get lost and quit your whining over other posters and their thoughts and opinions about the event. this is a forum where we discuss the game. not whine over other posters opinions.

I really do want that dragonriding parrot mount, but damn, I can’t bring myself to play Plunderstorm. I don’t think I’ve even made it to renown 10 yet. It is so boring and the grind is disgusting.
I can just go and play an actually fun BR like Fortnite and earn skins I actually like playing as.
the difference is, is that i did it. you just whined.
People are complaining constantly. They just get brigaded into a plunderstorm forum/folder where all those complaints can be ignored.
Everyone knows this game mode was trash. That’s why they didn’t announce it ahead of time. didn’t test the mode for glitches/exploits. didnt test the mode for power imbalances. Didn’t anticipate the rage people experienced at the plunder grind (so they buffed it).
At the start of EVERY solo game its just people chatting about how close they are to being done with this crap.

they wouldnt play it in the first place if there wasnt cosmetics for retail tied to this but if they didnt tie cosmetics this game would have been doa. it wouldnt have the artificially inflated numbers to show the success that it isnt.
