thats fine for a single player rpg but i have 4, 9, 19, 39 other people that have to live with a millisecond decision made by mistake. living with your failures is fine, but other people shouldnt be expected to.
We don’t have too, retail is there for ya. Leave Classic to the players that enjoy a better game.
I swear gamers today want zero penalties in games. That is just disgusting. Like making a mistake should really suck. That is what makes it a game. Having decisions matter. How doesn’t this make sense?

No one is stopping you from respecing… you can farm in your free time in order to afford this. What’s with the whining and trying to alter the game in a negative way?

I like that choices are meaningful and would not favour what the OP is suggesting.
If I don’t want to pay respec costs all the time, I might consider a more flexible build that may not min-max for any one area of the game but can do a couple of things reasonably well.
If you have cheap respec costs, then you’re flipping back and forth between cookie cutter builds.
High respec costs should result in more variety of builds, and I think that is a much better thing.

Again retail is there for you where everything you do doesn’t matter. No decisions are important. Nothing is immersive. It’s just a failed version of WoW.

Talents aren’t meant to be these flavor of the moment things that you change from encounter to encounter in order to maximize efficiency… this isn’t retail. People who want to do this are punished by having to go back to the main city and being charged for it. If your guild is requiring you to do this have them pay for it or expect that it will happen and save money for it.

I remember doing this. I had to tank as an arms warrior I had to heal as an ele shaman. You will be doing a lot of off spec crap, especially while leveling. Simply because you do not need the most elite optimal class/spec to do a 5 man dungeon.
This coming classic release I will be leveling as a paladin and will be doing both tanking and healing for dungeons as needed. Its why i horde some clothie healing gear on the side.
Really well put.
People will indeed commit to their character more when the spec you choose really matters.

theyre a splitsecond mistake that costs hours to undo, its a pretty big design flaw.
but but i missclicked on the first 9 levels of talents, Obviously my build is now trash I have to farm deadmines to respec. Its the only option I see.

This actually benefits me as a casual pvp focused player. At least the Naxx geared back peddling dingus has to pay to respec before one shotting me, or pvp with a sub optimal spec.
And yeah running dungeons as a pvp spec is what I did all vanilla, never had a problem.

What they should do is remove the cost but leave the requirement that you go to a trainer to do it. That keeps the RP part of specs in the game without unduly punishing classes that due to bad design need more respecs.
If your respec cost is already that expensive and you are missclicking than I would put that blame on yourself… not the game.

Yea really the dumbest excuse that cause Retail to be such a bad game. Maybe if gamers were actually paying attention in the games they were playing, instead of reading txt on their phone with 10 alt tabs up.
Misclicking is your fault for not paying attention and mistakes should be punishing so you don’t make them again. That is a well designed game. If you can’t be immersed in the game to pay attention to important decisions when you are doing them. You shouldn’t be playing that game.

The respec cost is one of the only gold sinks in the game and people are trying to have it removed… absolutely laughable. And people are crap talking private servers saying that they are wholly inaccurate?
