The one feature wow needs to beat FF14

All good points which is why I said specifically.

But knowing Blizzard, all that stuff will be in dungeons and raids. Making people always being instanced.

Eggs-actly.

If every profession could either make things for houses or provide materials to the crafting proffs to make things, professions would get a lot more fun. If you could display our achievements and special gear drops, have a music player that could play tracks created by that new Bard class (I know, Bards right) or if not by Scribes, create special areas like pet and mount stables…the only limits are how far the devs could stretch their imagination.

As long as they did not put anything in the house and surrounds that kept people there (as was done with garrisons) it could be an entertaining little side thing you could work on, improve and…perhaps…even grow over time. Get a one storey house, get the plans and hire the carpenters and stonemasons and gather the materials and add a second storey or an annexe or a basement.

So many possibilities…

Have daily quests associated with items for the house. Want a couch? Go out to Elwynn forest and collect wood.

Want portraits? Go out into the world and hunt down a rare mob. Etc

Pretty much, there is multiple ways to solve the issue. I gave some examples somewhere in the thread. I’m not specifically against a housing system. I just would want it to be done good if they added it. I rather not see a system get added and done in a way where the world ends up feeling empty.

I agree, garrisons were badly designed and they put a lot of people off the idea of housing. Hopefully they would learn from that. If they made it creative as I mentioned, and included needing items and materials and plans from every expansion zone, the world would get very busy indeed.

That there is the problem and why people are hesitant to support player housing again. If you recall the original reception when Garrisons was mentioned was fairly positive. However it was done so poorly it was instantly hated. This combined with people don’t trust Blizzard (with good reason) To learn from their mistakes. I just don’t see you ever really getting the level of support for player housing as there once was in the past.

Funnily enough the garrisons werent that bad in the beginning. During the early building phase when you were still levelling it up, and when there was lots to do out in the world, it wasnt that bad.

The issue was that during the Great Drought at the end, there was less and less reason to be out. If they had done as they originally intended - gave us the extra raid, built the two faction hubs, opened the extra areas - then there would have been more reason to be out. But the stagnation was depressing and you could only run around Tanaan Jungle for so long.

If it hadnt been the garrisons, we would have just sat somewhere else.

Garrisons wasn’t what people pictured. They had thought there would be more freedom, more designs available for the building types ect. It was almost instantly shunned just for those reasons alone. Then came the entire herbing and mining thing making profession people dislike it a bit because anyone was capable of getting mats instead of depending on them.

This is your perception, not fact. I could say that people in FF quest less, because most of my FC including myself, did the MSQ, and only what we had to in order to get to the endgame. You are projecting your perception of FF as if that’s 100% fact. The thing is, there were literally just thousands of WoW players in FF, and there have always been tons of FF players that play many games, WoW included. These communities are the same people. Your example an anecdote at best, and shouldn’t be presented as evidence.

Everyone mentions this.
And quite frankly, I have come to disagree with it.
Especially after I moved back from NA to EU server, and got a better ping.
I basically got better at the game, got better ping, and suddenly the combat was smooth as hell, not to mention the animations are just more exciting to look at.

Once you learn to actually play the game, you won’t feel the GCD at all. You are supposed to be able to weave in abilities that are not at the GCD, to create a fluid motion of attacks.

FF combat is easy to learn, but harder to master.

Ok but we need to be able to make it look like our RL housing.

Available items and furnishings:

  1. Stained mattress bought at yard sale.
  2. Pee bottle (3/4 full).
  3. Pile of dirty laundry.
  4. Stack of unpaid bills.
  5. Wobbly chair.
  6. Eviction notice.
  7. Laundry hamper (full).
  8. Pizza delivery box (one slice left, 3 days old).
  9. Nintendo NES game controller /w tangled wire.
  10. Dr. Pepper 12 pack filled with empty cans.

Some stuff should only drop from raid bosses maybe.

golden saucer, we need to play mahjong instead of the game

Id rather have the fishing cruise over a house implemented.

Whats the difference? You queue for stuff in FF14 too. Maybe the only difference is the amount of players in the game and the devs don’t funnel you to 1 zone every day for endless dailies. It wouldn’t be hard to achieve what 14 does, you kinda just let players do whatever they enjoy.

More content? Heck no - The remaining WoW players

Wow is already beating FF14.

Don’t fall for click bait videos…
You clearly clicked them which is what they wanted.

Yes to player housing but only if it is a minor feature for the expan. It’a about as engaging as pet battles for most people .

There’s a lot of stuff that we get with the housing system in FFXIV too that adds more reward to the content we do. Even if you don’t have a house, you can still get an apartment pretty easily, or utilize some of the features in an inn room.

One thing that we get is orchestration rolls which is kinda like the WoD/Mechagon music box, but it doesn’t just disappear when the next expansion rolls out, lol.

Honestly WoW just needs more non-power-based rewards and to stop adding stuff that we worked on that just goes away with an update. Especially since Gold doesn’t feel good to get from anything anymore since you can just buy a significant amount of it for $20 off of a store UI.

Golden Saucer is like if WoW made the Darkmoon Faire as more than just an afterthought and it stuck around all the time. It’s actually a really popular feature.

Classic WoW doesn’t have voice acting. Also FFXIV has far more voice acting than WoW does at this point. You just need to get past the first half of the vanilla content.

Yeah, this is pretty much what folks in these threads are like. They’re literally defending WoW by fighting with people requesting more additional features. lol. They come off as abused spouses or something.

“I get to run 8 dungeons for 2+ years, the same PVP maps that have been in the game for over 10, and a new raid every 8+ months. They can’t afford to make anything else! We’ll lose a raid tier!”

Blizzard adds player housing at 10 million gold per house.

exactly this.

15/m + 60 dollar box = 2 year expansion = $420.

Do you guys not realize how many hours of extremely high quality gaming $420 dollars can buy you during the Steam summer sale? Way more than 2 years of WoW. It’s a scam.
