Yeah and in TBC they said they’d always worshiped Lo’Gosh and just didn’t have a name for him.

Remember Tyrande being taught lessons and being scolded at by Varian and Anduin?
Thalyssra is an Elf so that alone by default means that Blizzard will find a way to make her pay for that sin and be reminded how younger races are better than her.
Being 10,000 years old does not inherently that mean no one of younger races can surpass you.
How old is Gorona at this point even?
She was born before the First War started, so she’s got be what? 50-60 yrs old by now ?
I would guess so, looking at characters like Saurfang and Etrigg.
Dear, I´d have faith in this if it wasn´t for Thalyssra acting like a groupie towards Jaina in 8.3´s 2nd Siege of Orgrimmar -when she, a 10 thousand years old mage was asking Jaina for tips regarding arcane magic-.
Embarrasing.
Best post of the thread, man.
Yeah, and any time they get the spotlight devs manage to screw them up. I rather get almost nothing of Rommath if this guarantees he´s not gonna become a Baine fanboy or a light junkie.
LOL I honestly found this cruelly funny… Because as long as I can remember from the story of WC3 the elves and old races are always give such tragic and terrible outcomes…
Sometimes I wonder if its because Blizz don’t want them to become more relevant than the Orc vs Human Faction theme…
Beyond the Sylvanas cinematic I haven’t seen ANY elf protagonist in any high rendered cinematic in some time… since Vanilla and BC… and does elves were never name (I think)
Wait what? How did I miss this?
Basically Thalyssra asks Jaina for the magic that made that ship fly during the attack on Lordaeron. Awful scene. Don’t recommend it to anyone.
I’m sort of an Elf supremasist sometimes but that doesn’t have to be bad. Thalyssra could still be extremelly powerful like she should be and still be impressed by some new aplications of everyday arcane powers.
It’s after Saurfang dies iirc. You have to run over to her.
Seems even weirder asking something like that in such a moment.
Alright, seems I missed that ( or repressed the memory of it ). Ugh.
It’s the standard “But Tolkien Did It” argument for Elves being on the decline.
While the Simirillion wasn’t out for most of the time, Tolkien didn’t just have tragedy’s happen to the elves for no reason. They were forced to go to the Undying Lands to avoid wasting away and becoming wraiths, and while most of the fighting was done by the race of Men but nothing flat out tragic really happened.
And in the Simirillion the Elven Tragedies were both accompanied by Elven Victories or related to Feanor, which means were 100% Earned. but yeah it was a standard “Tolkien did it” thing in fantasy. Tolkien wrote an entire history, entire cultures, and knew that the readers wouldn’t want an overly depressing tale of loss. Tolkien may have created the fantasy genre that we know today, but to shamelessly ape him without realizing why he did what he did is insulting. The Elves were fading because they had several millennia of constant war against the forces of darkness and literally couldn’t stay on middle earth for much longer, not because Sauron committed a brutal massacre against them that effectively destroyed their entire civilization.
That was when he was still a shaman and was blessed by the elements. He’s been downgraded since then. Jaina is more powerful than any Horde member. Genn is probably in league to Baine. Glazlowe cant hold a candle to Gelbin and Prince Erazmin. The pandas are equal to each other. Moira, Muradin, etc they’re all fairly strong and can take on Geya’rah as she doesn’t have any real powers. Mayla doesn’t offer much in terms of power. The only character horde side would be Talanji, but that power stems from the loa and Bwonsombi in particular. Thalryssa cant defeat Jaina and I don’t see her as so powerful to be a game changer. Lor’themar cant be as powerful as Velen. Vareessa and Alleria as well as Turalyon are fairly powerful.
Now that Thrall has his powers again, it’ll likely be him by the time he gets back to Azeroth.
But I secretly hope Vol’jin gives Rokhan the big boost and it’s actually him instead.
So you agree that there is an unfair power disparity that unfairly profits the alliance while most Horde leaders are weaklings in direct comparison.
He does not have his powers back yet. Stick to the facts. Thrall was downgraded while Jaina was boosted.
They’re coming back soonish, and I hope he outshines Jaina by the end of their stay in the Shadowlands.
Thalryssa cant defeat Jaina and I don’t see her as so powerful to be a game changer.
When have Thalyssra and Jaina fought for you to make that qualification? Outside of the campaign in Suramar, Thalyssra has had very little call for fighting, even during Battle for Azeroth where the Nightborne contributed only in a supporting role.
The one time Jaina and Thalyssra crossed paths as potential adversaries was during the Stormwind Extraction where Thalyssra’s mission was to extract Talanji, not to fight Jaina in the Alliance capital where she could easily be outnumbered. Only Alliance characters are granted the plot armor needed to enter the opposite faction’s territory in game, fight major characters and leave unscathed.
Also, give Thalyssra some time to develop. She doesn’t have the benefit of being around since the Warcraft days and the time to collect multiple power-ups along the way.
