With the old system, there were still higher level mythic plus for high end players, all the squish has done is reduced the scaling for casual players

Specifically 8s really. It’s no accident or conspiracy, the gilded crest season cap has just extended pretty far already, so people farming catch up for crest ilvl or pushing up alts for niche pivots in the raid/m+ teams will absolutely farm the path of least resistance.
For best magic, just list a gb8, guarantee free carry every time. I’ve had 4 man squads pull up at all 2600io 625+ ilvl. My warrior got a 10 key before going above 609 ilvl thanks to getting carried by these players lol.

M+ themselves are cringe this tier for sure, but with nerfs coming out they are absolutely getting more normal. GB for example went from quadruple torture hell, to feeling like SBG 2.0. And, most importantly, playing with friends should never be a priority for anyone. Timing keys and getting gear should. And we’re getting gears just fine, you moreso than me because your spec is actually viable. You should be timing 12s right now.
That’s literally how most adult friendships work outside of some VERY privileged bubbles lol. It’s why I say grow up.

The simplest solution is to stop punishing players’ keys.
This would almost solve all the issues.
Without key downgrades, you’re not pressured to beat the timer, so you can choose some of the less popular classes instead of always picking bear tanks, paladins, DKs, or shamans.
You won’t feel frustrated due to excessive difficulty.
Why don’t raids have most of the issues that M+ does?
Because you can keep trying and making mistakes without being punished.

someone else said it but honestly, they should just use the delve tier system for keys and have your keystone “unlock” that dungeon.

I think all the daamge that we take when we aren’t even standing in stuff needs to toned way down.
Many time I have no clue I’m taking a ton of damage because it looks like I’m not standing in anything., then suddenly in at. 10% out of the blue
