There are currently 4 ways to pvp
Rated BG - I have no issue with people setting requirements to join
Arena - Again no issue with people setting requirement to join
WorldPVP - Anyone can flag anytime. Choice is yours to do that playstyle
Random BG - This is where there lies a problem:
I should be able to queue into any RANDOM BG at any time and expect a halfway enjoyable game. If I JUST ding 120 I should be able to join a Random BG and show some kind of effort. If I Raid to max level I should be able to join a Random BG and expect a halfway enjoyable game.

But it IS Blizzards fault for allowing such a HUGE discrepancy between fresh 120 and solid gold dancer 120. There is absolutely no reason for such a drastic difference. That is Blizzards screwup. ANYONE at ANYTIME should be able to join a random BG and feel like they can accomplish something. Right now you got fully geared Demon Hunter annihilating 3-5 lowish geared people and gliding away from it. Even as a fresh 120 I should lose to a geared person but I should show SOME kind of damage. Maybe have him down to 30-40% if they suck opr 60% health if they play great. But as it stands a Fresh 120 is usually dead in 4 seconds and the DH is gliding away at 100% health.

That’s VERY bad game design.

No, again, just some effort. Not as much as I do. I would never ask that. I’m rather over-the-top with it, and I fully realize that.

If I participate in a neighborhood baseball team, and we play against other hoods, is it really too much to expect that my teammates show up wearing shoes? Or how about look at the ball that is being pitched at them instead of picking their nose? Is this really out of line as an expectation?

Yes, I do, but as it’s a team play effort, that only goes so far.

We did have Legion, but people complained. No other expansion could someone just ding max level, enter a BG, and take someone down to 40% health.

We also had WoD, which was awesome and people could get blue gear in a relatively short period of time and do the same thing. Legion was horrible for PVP though, I agree.

You could not just ding 100 in wod and take someone down like that. gear was significant enough that 1v2 carries in 2s was pretty popular. And botting was massive in randoms.

I wouldn’t say I dinged and ran BGs in WoD, but excluding running Ashran just enough to get the double trinket I’d say it was true at least on my healer (I primarily heal BGs). I didn’t get that period of being fodder like in previous expansions.

And now you get the cloak and a couple emissaries/world boss and you won’t be fodder.

That 60g I got from the world boss on both my fresh 120s definitely helped my overall strength

Well there’s 2 different world bosses. Did you try them both? Use bonus rolls?

I’m also of a mind that I’m not going to bring down my team by being undergeared, though I’m not the sort to hold others to my standards. I think you’re underestimating things more than a bit with all the tacked on PvE systems, but bottom line I’m not going into a BG with a sizable disadvantage to the dragon slayers.

You still need azerite essence rank 3, cloak proc, and apporpriate corruption gear. which can take a couple weeks.

You get those eventually, like you got CP gear eventually.

The amount of corruptions that drop from PvP is very low.

You get those from vision runs. Easily soloable content.

Yes but the gap between the current “cp” gear and regular geared players is far greater.
With all the strength bonuses and my haste corruption I’m doing 100k templars verdict with no cds.

Oh I can admit it’s pve, but you don’t need to do M+ or raid. It’s easy content to get you to a decent baseline.

In previous expansions PvP was treated as its own entity. This merger with PvE made both a convoluted mess that is very imbalanced.
