No, it’s not. We can only deliver DPS, and if and when our spells get shadow nerfed or nerfed overall, there is going to be tremendous backfire.

People have been doing this for hundreds of years. And successfully I might add.
Since I’ve been playing, a mage spec has always been in the top rankings. And there still currently is. So…I guess that hasn’t changed either.

People NOW have been using fishing poles and nets for hundreds of years. And they yielded BETTER success if I may add.
For one spec. And yet, the other two are dumpster. Huge lack of balance.
Your idea of balance is to have all 3 specs (all DPS) be dominating the charts?

That seems rather dismissive. To be fair though, you haven’t answered any of my questions from the start, which does bring in to question the validity of your quandary.
Apparently they can’t swap to Arcane or something. I suggested it may be a bug as they should be able to do so, and Arcane is definitely performing well.
However they did just dismiss that as being an action they could, or are willing to take, so I dunno?
The impression I got from earlier, prior to discovering they couldn’t swap to Arcane was just that all Mage specs need to be top tier and that should Blizzard’s priority every season.
But I don’t know what to believe until they confirm if they can change spec or not. 
I don’t care. You know what. I’m going to keep a bumping count until you leave. Thanks in advance.

Don’t need to. Power rankings and balance changes all the time. It’s fine that ONE of your specs is dumpster when another is top tier.
Welcome to playing a strictly DPS class. Don’t like it? Switch to the one that’s performing well. There’s always at least one.

So I just logged in, logged into the Mage, and was able to switch to Frost spec. Game didn’t crash, computer didn’t freeze.
Mage specs are playable.
Yes, because you have not provided any reason.
Just come out and say “I only wish to play a certain spec and I’m unhappy that it is performing poorly despite being able to change to another appropriate spec for the same role and perform significantly better”
At least that is a reason, and then, once you’re being honest about the situation you will find the conversation much more reasonable.
