It doesn’t work like that
Look back to Legion, how many packs did you need to pull to wipe a group?
It depended on the dungeon of course, CoS and BRH had some nasty packs but not every pack had something that could oneshot someone unless a major CD is used
This is not the same thing, i don’t think you’re getting it
No one questioned if BM is “viable” in the most basic sense. It doesn’t detract from the fact that they are behind all other tank specs. BM also being non-oneshotable doesn’t automatically make them viable in high keys because you need more than just survivability for that.
It does because it’s not true.
Check the stats for each key level, both BDK and DH are clearly way worse as both start being unviable way earlier
If you don’t believe me just go and play those tanks, you’ll notice how bad (specially DH) they are
It is true. You have one guy who is using exploits to time 1 +19 key. How many of each of the other classes are timing 18s compared to monk. Look at the class representation for any given key level.
Looks to me like you are severely cherry picking the one thing. It’s called confirmation bias.
not a problem for me as im a tank.
was never designed to be fun. its just a way to keep people on the treadmill.
Even if you had half of a good point, you would have completely lost credibility right here.
Imagine the same asinine logic being applied to Disc Priest or Hunter simply because I think they’re overperforming for the input required to play it.
I’ve never met a single talented player that advocated for an entire spec to be removed from the game in any form of serious manner.
The admission of failure that it would take from the dev team for even #2 and #3 to happen makes me feel like blizzard will spend a whole norther season beating around the bush. (But I do agree Augvoker was a terrible Idea.)
People need to stop asking for nerfs to everything. If you can’t do a piece of content because you reached your current skill level, either get better or just accept the fact that not all content is made for you. There’s nothing wrong with that either, sometimes you just have to accept your position in the game and enjoy it from there.
The constant begging for nerfs, and Blizzard going along with it, is why 90% of the game is braindead trash, leveling is a complete joke, and more and more classes are getting homogenized into builder/spender garbage.
With that said, yes, delete the goofy lizards.
100% well said. People don’t want to hear that it’s a skill issue because they devoted 20 years into a game and feel entitled.
No, they were the meta healer because of Ashen Hallow, which was nerfed before S2.
It was nerfed so hard almost no one used it anymore. They all went Kyrian and were middle of the pack healers.
It’s more than a feeling. If you have any plans to pug, you must reroll to the meta class/spec. In the same way that many Americans feel that they’re just a few years away from being a billionaire, many m+ players are just as delusional and feel they’re just a few weeks away from competing for title. When you have that goal in mind, you don’t play the offspecs, you play the meta.
Yeah. As usual, they went scorched earth on that “tuning pass.” Well done, Blizzard. (not really)
The difference isn’t that Aug is easy to play for how rewarding it is. Ironically Aug is pretty bad unless you’re a talented player tracking the cooldowns and buffs of other talented players.
In the vast majority of cases, you are better off just replacing Aug with a DPS of comparable skill level.
The minority of cases is that Aug can buff Tanks and Healers, pretty drastically increasing theirs, and the group survivability in a way that makes them mandatory in high end M+ and essentially worthless elsewhere.
It’s basically an unworkable design in the long term.
Aug is defs an issue. But I think Aug outlines bigger issues. If there is a class that is doing quite a lot more damage than other classes the , they will just get way more juiced with an Aug that it’s more damage to bring an Aug over another DPS.
Blizz clearly is struggling to balance this, which is fine I understand that their devs are still learning as they have stated multiple times.
This is incorrect. Aug is typically a net DPS loss to bring over an equally skilled/geared DPS of basically any spec. You bring it because it pretty massively increases the survivability of the group by buffing Tanks and Healers.
Most of the defenders of M+ can’t see this. It might be fun for them to just run the same 8 dungeons for months on end, but most MMO players get bored with this type of content.
The devs have been using M+ and the same boring Timeless Isle format now for far too long to keep players interested in the game after a month of a new expansion or season. Delves are a good start at least.
Giving healers zero downtime to DPS is such bad design. Ff14 tried it and healer participation dropped off a cliff.
