I 100% agree with that.
How should Blizzard define “fun” though? This is a purely subjective measure that will mean something different to every player who touches the game. Do you think Blizzard actively tried to design the game to be not fun?
Most problematic is that many people find competitive aspects fun. Why do you think nearly every competitive thing that exists in WoW began as a purely player-created addition to the WoW ecosystem? So how do you separate out what’s competitive from what’s fun when they are one in the same for many players?
I can’t speak for anyone else but personally cosmetic reward cap and gear reward cap should be put in 2 separate categories.
PvP for instance anyone can get the best gear available with participation while the cosmetics on the other hand take a lot of grinding and commitment. Maybe if Blizz did something similar with mythic+. It’s not really fair how people get kept out of groups because they can’t get gear from those higher keys
PVP also requires on people to be in equal gear to “work.”
They had unfair pvp before, and I think people might’ve played that more because they want their turn at owning people.
Unfortunately the biggest obstacles to fixing M+, no matter “how easy” it may be, are whether the developers agree with the community’s points and how it aligns with the Dev Vision™.
I can say the same of mythic+ at this point tbh. You can’t get into those keys without the gear
It’s not gear keeping people out. It’s other people having more score or gear or both.
And that’s not really something you can fix.
Class/spec is bigger than everything else.
M+ is in a bad spot, the playerbase in general is SO much worse. These are easily the worst people I have ever played with in any content. These dungeons asked a TINY bit more from players and they are completely unable to activate a single braincell to keep up. Tanks and healers need a buff because DPS as a role is dragging the entire game down with extra pulls and a complete failure to interrupt anything, as well as totally ignoring weekly affixes. Mistakes and incompitence wipe groups now and these players simply cannot grasp this.
No, it’s fine, the benefit of Aug should be the buffs they give to the others to enhance the gameplay in an alternative way. Aug should honestly have the catch of not being able to bloodlust. Your tradeoff is a damage boost.
Tanks and healers aren’t always the problem, when DPS and Tanks know how to utilize their skills and interrupt, use defensives, cooldowns etc properly, the healer has very little to do outside of tank busters on the tank.
Yeah, I think there should be less people being the gatekeepers of how a person should gear up in the game and tone down the % increase, beyond the ilvl cap any additional M+ rating is pure competitive ego boosting. The way it should be, if a person wants to feel “forced” to gear up via M+ to Mythic raid, I don’t mind saying this, that’s on you man. Any person forcing another to play a specific way, that’s also on you and them. The game needs to stop catering the gearing progress to the try hards and just let people enjoy the process at the leisure.
The quitters will always quit.
Been saying this about Aug since the beginning. It either buffs other specs so much that the overall contribution outweighs bringing another dps, and therefore its meta
Or it doesn’t buff specs enough to justify losing a dps and it’s useless.
The spec is so polarizing in its design, idk how anyone at blizzard didn’t see the Aug meta coming a mile away
There’s a big difference - there isn’t an enemy team on the other side. While PUGing may not work depending on your gear level, you can always find folks via guilds or communities and run whatever key level is comfortable for the group to have a positive experience provided you select an appropriate level for your group.
Whereas in PVP, if you are undergeared compared to what the enemy team will bring, you’re just going to get your face stomped in. You can still find teammates to make sure you can get in the door, but if your opponent is considerably more geared than you, you’re likely going to have a bad time.
All this would do is lower the key level, thus kicking the can down the road.
Not actually a solution.
You’re talking about a Monk tank that’s taking advantage of exploits to get full raid buffs. This is also 1 singular Monk BM tank that ran 1 singular 19. BM are not doing 19s, plural.
You are out of your mind if you think there’s nothing wrong with BM in comparison to other tanks.
Yes, we get it, you use ridiculous hyperbole as an argument to make it seem like others are being unrealistic.
We don’t have to go all the way there.
You can do half and half to make tanks easier to play while not making them immortal.
100% agree with this, and not just with tanks. this is why so many people expect healers to dps. if i wanted to dps, i’d queue as WW. =]
Easier trash = bigger pulls = shorter timers
Doesn’t change much other than make pulls bigger with more creative routing, which historically people loved big pulls
It’s really fun to see what packs you can combine into pull. Right now you kind of just pull 1 pack at a time because everything kills you and requires attention, then the timers are extra long to compensate
You are out of your mind if you think there’s nothing wrong with BM in comparison to other tanks.
You really just come into every thread and twist words lol, who said there was nothing wrong with BM? You’re very malicious or you aren’t very good at reading and interpreting.
You are out of your mind if you think there’s nothing wrong with BM in comparison to other tanks.
All I said is that BM isn’t oneshoteable which is true
A non oneshoteable tank will always be at least viable because it fulfills their role
Never said nothing is wrong about BM Monk, in fact, what I’ve said is that there’s something wrong with every single tank spec
But yeah, delete Aug. Or make more support specs. Its monopoly is pretty annoying.
Support is a pretty doomed concept in WoW. Most of the healthy stuff that Support can do in other games, like protect/heal allies or CC enemies is either done by other roles already, or just doesn’t work in other games like LoL where a Support can be anything that functions with less resources.
Basically the only unique niche left for support is force multiplication, which is where the problem with Aug comes in. You tune a force multiplier around being good for an average player and it goes gangbusters at the high end, like launch Aug did. You tune it around being good at the high end and its worthless everywhere else, because a force multiplier needs force to actually multiply.
You can make more Supports, but the only thing that separates Aug from other DPS specs is the buffs (and tuning, because theyre tuned around the buffs) and any other Support is likely to face the same issues, and because of how supports are currently tuned to not ruin the game (basically worse than other DPS), making a new support spec wouldn’t compete with Aug, it’d just supplant them (or get supplanted) because one would be tuned higher than the other.
The end-game of creating more Supports is that you don’t create competition within the role, because it’s not a role, it’s just a subcategory of DPS. You just create more Augs.
Easier trash = bigger pulls = shorter timers
At the same time, if you want easier trash, just do a 7 instead of a 10.
