To prevent people from being hurt by having to do content they don’t want to do the answer is really simple.
Stop making crossover gear a thing. Work out affixes that apply to content in world, dungeons, raids, battlegrounds and arenas. Not specific encounters just specific modes of gameplay. So that people who raid are never compelled to enter dungeons and the same goes for everyone else.
The 6 hour comment could be said for any other content in the game. You aren’t being punished because all you have to do to get Mythic ilvl loot each Tuesday is clear a 15.
I kinda love the change but hate the fact I’ll miss out on the raid scene as I work during prime hours and my server is dead by the time I get home…doesn’t help it’s already low pop either
I intend on utilizing the Group Finder if my new guild raids at times I’m not there. The most I’d be doing is probably the first few bosses on Mythic if they’re easy enough.
I manage to log in by 1:30am EST at the earliest. Pretty much don’t start moving till 2:30am. It’s hard enough to pug a m5 at that time let alone find a raid group.
I wish they would do something like this because I just have way to many alts at this point. I feel as if I was punished for committing to a server. I currently have 9lv 120 and 3 that just hit 100-110.
Damn. This is the most salient point here. We need to petition Blizzard for the most epic gear to come from Horde Side Epic BGs! It should prolly outscale Mythic raids since forming a group takes up to 30 minutes and the battles themselves can go on for just as long. Epic BGs need to award 240 loot in SL.
Through out most of WoW history there has been superior pvp gear. The only time there wasn’t superior pvp gear, was after the first season of mop and wod. The first season of mop was the one with pvp stats that pvpers loved as well.
I personally don’t care about pvp at all, but this comparison between pvp and pve with how glad should offer better gear than the other ranks is a good analogy for why harder pve content should offer better rewards. Its not really a hard point to understand.
I work in film. So if an actor can’t get it right in 2-3 takes should they find a different career? This is how you are implicating people play; to YOUR specifications. Yet another poor view of the community and it’s this kind of thinking that leads us to where the game is now. I could raid, no problem. I just can’t raid every week at a set time. This makes me unable to commit and I’m not about to turn away my career for a game. I love the game, I really do, but there’s really no avenue for me to obtain gear at any competitive level other than find an arena partner, buy my way into Mythic raids or do M+ content.
Now, I know you don’t think I deserve to “be as good as you” but I pay the same amount of money that you do. Why should you, as a raider, be able to come into a BG and dominate in gear that the greater playerbase doesn’t have? Do you think that’s fair? I don’t. I think your gear should be suitable for the content you are doing, and therefore because M+ scales, so should the rewards. If players can do 35+ then I think they should be awarded 500 ilvl gear. It’s really that simple.
Last I checked M+ will still be in the game. It will still reward gear (a whole THREE ilvls lower than heroic) and STILL give you a mythic raid quality piece in the vault. What exactly have you lost? At the WORST it will take you a bit more time to gear but wait…you will get to choose a piece of gear in your weekly vault. So actually you’ll be able to gear MORE efficiently than a straight random chest. What exactly is your complaint again?
And you have the exact same access to the exact same content I do.
I don’t go into BGs.
If I’ve earned that gear then yes it would be fair. You could earn the same gear.
Do you not realize that if they did that then we’d have a numbers squish EVER SINGLE patch? Also Blizzard doesn’t want to invalidate raiding like that.
I’m not going to reply to a heavily dissected comment from someone that declares no one should be allowed to play wow if they can’t put in raid times every week at a set time. You are an obtuse person and there’s really nothing more to add to your own recalcitrant view of MMO gaming. Your number squish comment simply proves you’ve never done M+ at the higher levels. Ever. You can’t reach those levels in the beginning of an expansion, it’s just not possible. Try to utilize the brain. You actually think 2 hours of raiding should allow a player to dominate ALL content. Yep. This kind of thinking is why Blizzard loses so many over the years and so few stick around to be listened to. It’s palpable just how solipsistic you are.
EDIT: People who do that to comments irritate me, they can’t form a proper sentence or rebuttal so have to create this bullet-point style argument that only serves to highlight they are pleading to be seen intelligent and hope it offers enough delusion as to seemingly stand over others. Talk about socially awkward, can’t even form a proper sentence.
LOL it takes hours for them to even form. Go back to the rock you crawled out from. You aren’t talking to some kid you picked up hitchiking out front of a school here. Don’t pretend you can offer me advice or try to pander yourself to some kind of ubiquitous solution that is already there. ie Talk to the hand.
You are an idiot. What have the last how many expansions done? Seriously. I don’t understand MMOs? Is that what you have?
The best and highest ilvl gear already comes from raids and not Mythic Plus. You are just nerfing a system even further that already has a power disadvantage. Selfish.
Where is your +15 achievement? Even your +10? You don’t do anything anyway so you won’t be impacted by this change.
There’s always been an ilvl cap. Are you telling me there isn’t? That’s like saying at the beginning of BFA it would have been cool to see people doing +65s and in 520 ilvl gear. Do you not understand how this literally breaks the game?
Looking at your character vs. mine, it appears you have done nothing. At all. So there’s that. You’re welcome. Oh you did Gruul’s lair and got carried through Tomb of Sargeras, sorry.
You don’t even know who created the ilvl thing and why. You have no understanding of the concept from the standpoint other than it goes up and down over the course of the game. Don’t pretend to, because you just don’t. I was there when the dark magic was written, do not preach to me of it.
