The M+ nerf is good and raiding should always offer the best gear

So they could limit the amount of gear you could loot from end of Dungeon chests? Maybe 1 or 2 465 items a week and then they could start scaling down like a Vision chest? That sounds like a good idea…but Blizzard doesn’t have many of those anymore.

I think it’s more a matter of slowing progression down.

Right now you can gear up for Mythic raiding by EITHER M+ or Heroic raiding.

Now you kind of have to do both.

For a subscription based game, it makes a lot of sense and extends the time players spend progressing the characters.

Gotta keep those time played metrics and MAU numbers high for the investors. They are who the game is really designed for nowadays.

Judging by your profile - it looks pretty hard mate.

This player get’s it.

That doesn’t change the issue. I can kill a boss 10 a week but I am only eligible for loot on the FIRST kill. So even if you got less loot in a mythic+ run (which it seems they changed in SL already), you can still turn around and kill him 9 more times and you can get loot in each of them.

That is the problem they have with mythic+ vs raiding. It is faster and easier to just spam farm the lowest key needed and gear up compared to a once a week raid.

Yes keeping players interested to keep logging into a social game is pretty important.

The problem is they opened a pandora’s box with an alternative route for end game content with M+

If they want to limit the amount of gear you can gain by putting a cap on end of dungeon chests that’s a real solution. This just disincentivizes players who liked M+ as their end game. Some will adapt, some will join/form Mythic raid guilds and some will just outright quit.

Why because I only have about 6 or 8 runs above it? No that just shows that I already have all the gear upgrades I needed from raiding and visions but thanks for playing.

High rated PVP is the hardest content in the game actually.

M+ also has the ability to scale much further than Mythic raids, to a point of likely close to High End PVP.

Ya no Mythic raiding is not even close to hardest.

The M+ route is still very viable. All this change does is make it so heroic raid isn’t invalidated from the start of the xpac. Gearing up from the weekly vault/chest will actually be easier now with less rng.

There will still be people who push higher keys a lot for prestige. This change only effect spam farming easier keys for better than heroic loot.

PvP gear didn’t come close to gear that came with Naxx, 2 years after the PvP gear came out…

Dude, think about that for a second.

Also it did come close, HWL/GM wep was eclipsed by the Legendaries and a small amount by the Naxx weapons. Not majorly, but a bit.

Depended on class heavily too though.

Herioc raids were invalidated the day they were made.

This point is hardly worth thinking about as it pretains to classic. Also PvP gear then I would argue was a lot more restrictive than any form of gearing now, so the point from the start is kind of irrelevant to the discussion.

Well ya it could only pertain to classic.

Until there was BIS items from PVP in BC for Raiding as well.

Your statement was “Raiding has always gave the best gear” thats simply not true.

In Wrath Cata and Mop, we also had Valor Gear. Where you could spam dungeons, and get Valor and get Herioc Raid Equivalent gear, and buy a bunch of BOEs.

In WOD started the best gear comes from raiding, Raid or Die, mentality that has taken this game from 10m subs to 1m. Keep doing that, sounds like a great idea.

For the most part is has, classic really had no rules for optimization of gear, even certain dungeon blues like hand of justice were better than raid or pvp gear.

Yes it did but raid still had the best gear Trinkets, Weapons, legendary etc

I think, this really just punishes DPS who already have a harder time gearing than Healers and Tanks, and punishes people who want to go from DPS to Healer or Tank. I’m almost positive everyone suffers from this change.

Its not a hard punishment though, 3 items levels lower than heroic gear will barely be noticeable. It will just motivate people who really want to min/max to maybe get into a heroic raiding guild, which might eventually lead to mythic raiding.

This post is the dumbest thing ive ever read. You mean to tell me throwing yourself at a boss along with 19 other idiots is easier than doing a high key where any mistake by Anyone is generally instant failure…

If you even read slighty into the post you would know thats not what this is saying.
