“Raid or Die” leaves out a large chunk of the playerbase, and Blizzard freezes them out at peril to the game. Wildstar proved that a game built solely for “hardcore” players won’t be able to survive. I have been subbed to WoW non-stop since Vanilla, but SL may be it for me. First their blind spiteful insistence on Pathfinder, now lessening the casual growth potential. I’m unsubbing for the PF spitegate, now maybe I won’t even bother to come back. i know the tryhard audience doesn’t care, but it’s costing Daddy Blizz $$, and I just hope enough of us casuals complain some changes could happen.
Is it though ?
I feel like a lot of people assume you can spam 15s on a boosted toon. I for one would really like to see how fast people can actually gear up in Mythic+, to 465, from a fresh start.
I meant it as just only that. Shouldn’t have volcanos and explosive orbs flying out of nowhere. It’s very lazy and more annoying than anything.
If affixes weren’t there, people would reach higher though. And it would be boring.
I dont understand, it sounds like you agree with my statement about raids being harder, and then compare naxx and kel’thas difficulty to today?
Also another note, its quite safe to say back in 2006, players just wasnt as good at the game as they are today. You can see it in retail for complex fights nearly requiring addons all the time. Or Even classic WoW now with raids being cleared within a few hours of it going live.
Sounds like we agree then, prior to last week the beta did scale gear but no, that scaling is gone now. And the 15s are definitely not faceroll at 190, but they’re doable.
It literally does not matter what form of content is hardest or makes you the biggest awesomest mega internet hero, the rewards from content should be the most relevant for that type of content regardless
Without a carry? It takes awhile.
Gearing my horde monk purely through pugging by myself took over a month and I did several keys a week on that character.
AND I was getting into higher keys than a DPS could because I was running Brewmaster and folks are desperate for a tank.
That character’s gear is still kind of crap too because the corruptions, itemization and what-not just aren’t there. The “m+ gearing issue” hasn’t been an issue since they removed titanforging.
Remember when Molten Core was cleared in the first week of Classic, without even a full raid of level 60s ?
“Vanilla had much harder raids!” LMAO.
It can be- but mostly only if you’re in a closed group doing stacks. Even with current drop rate if you mostly pug it’s a pretty slow gear process so you may be right. Even if you do get a piece to drop, it’s more often than not going to be something you don’t want because the item pool is so large.
Finally, someone who speaks some sense!
This DK I geared almost exclusively through Mythic+. It wasn’t a joyride. My Warrior that I geared through Heroic Ny’alotha, Mythic+ and some Mythic Ny’alotha got geared much much much faster for all his specs.
This DK, I don’t even have decent Frost gear on it, not enough crit gear.
I’ve done it on multiple toons in a week or less.
Gold for gold, a Heroic funnel is cheaper and gets you to 465 faster with better overall quality pieces I’d bet.
But really, most people saying “It’s faster to gear through Mythic+!” have never actually attempted to do it without a full on carry I bet. Starting from 0, even with a group of friends, you’ll have a hard time timing the keys on your way up.
Mythic HFC Arcimonde laughs at classic raids. ( When it was current content )
The only time wow has ever NOT been raid or die is Legion and BFA.
I feel like the quality of raids has went downhill since m+ was added.
Which is why myself and many of my friends came back for those expansions while we quit cata - > end of wod. Raid or die is boring. Raid logging is the worst.
Same. Warforging (I know math too well) proved to me that raiding is just a carrot on a stick, the M+ stuff is pretty much the same. I mean all these new dudes don’t know what it was like to have a set item drop with set stats, optimized for your class. I feel bad for them, I really do. Min/Maxxing is laughable, the concept relies on the constant grind for haste and cutting yourself for % based stats. The whole thing is a mess and Blizz seem to be diving ever deeper into fluffing up stats and making certain stats intrinsic while forcing players to gamble on getting drops that MIGHT have what they want. It’s all upside-down and the pun is intended for Shadowlands. I miss when I could just do BGs and get nice gear, not do rated stuff against these hardcore neckbeards who live on protein shakes and will never know what the genitals of the opposite sex taste like. People are career wow heads and Blizzard is feeding them into this gambling system that winds up not being an MMO but a way for people to flex on one another because they spend 300 hours a fortnight playing.
Yea overall I agree. My only exception is Nighthold. LOVED that raid.
I feel like it’s gone up, Legion and BfA both had great quality raids, better than a lot of Mists/WoD stuff for sure.
