Any news regarding the Unshackled stationed on the shores of Durotar in 10.0.5 PTR ? I was wondering since Orgrimmar’s been given a fair amount of new NPCs and dialogues apparently

With these new npcs coming with the Trading Post, I hope the Unshackled will finally visit Ogrimmar or at least take a look inside.

That would be amazing!
The Unshackled, and by extension the Kelfin themselves, are still on the beach in Durotar and they deserve to be an allied race.
More interaction with Horde stories would be a welcome addition.

Wowhead recently posted an article about possible hints of a return of Queen Azshara that I thought was worth mentioning here and in the Jinyu/Ankoan megathread:
I don’t know if this means we could see her appear in Dragonflight at all or not. Part of me feels like it would be better if she was a focus of another expansion, since Dragonflight already has quite a number of things to focus on for its story. Not to mention a better chance of Kelfin and Ankoan getting involved in the future if Azshara wasn’t shoe-horned in as part of a patch in an expansion.
It’s something I’ll have to think over as we continue with Dragonflight and beyond. Still, I figured it was something worth mentioning just in case.

Since it seems like we’re heading toward more old god stuff, wouldn’t surprise me if she ties into some of that. Sure would like some playable naga :-/
I don’t really see them being in the underground land expansion unless there’s a big underground lake cavern thingy connected to the ocean, but Avaloren being an island somewhere seems a more likely choice.
I’m wondering if the Keepers on it will be based off characters like Oberon, Titania, Puck etc…there’s that childhood link of Avalon to those characters due to the old Gargoyles cartoon

I’d expect Naga in a later major patch.
Kelfin will hopefully play a role.

Can’t remember if there was a third on the road map or just those two.

The Unshackled are in Durotar for some times now. Atolia Seapearl freed Lor’themar Theron, First Arcanist Thalyssra and the Horde hero in the Nazjatar Campaign. During Shadowlands, Lor’themar Theron and First Arcanist Thalyssra were in charge of the Horde with Rokhan (main leaders) so they could offer them a place in the Horde for this time.
Unshackled need to do something now, they can’t just be like this and do the statue in Durotar

Yeah, they’re just sitting on the shores of Durotar. Just standing around and watching people head to adventure with flying dragons. Would be nice for them to get an official invitation to the Horde so they could join in on the fun…
I’ve said before that with Azshara still out there, likely to become a problem in the near future, that could be a good time to make them playable with the Ankoan and Jinyu. I can’t see them just staying in the deep sea and risking getting enslaved by her and her minions once more, so it would be a smart move on their part. Not to mention being mutually beneficial for the Horde to have an underwater race.
However, I am still worried that they might get slapped onto Goblins as a customization race, which not only would limit their customization in general, would likely refer to themselves as Goblins instead of Kelfin/Gilgoblins. Not to mention likely not getting a racial to breathe underwater, which for a race that lives in the deep sea for all of their life, would be silly for them to be able to drown in a puddle in a few seconds.
I’m still hoping to see them as a full race someday. It seems like they’re so close, yet so far away. Literally. We’re getting close to a potential new expansion announcement, a decent chance of that at the upcoming Blizzcon, so we’ll see what direction that goes and whether they’ll be a part of it or not.
Untill then, we’ll try to make sure they aren’t forgotten!

I didn’t find a banner here so I will suggest this one:
It’s the Unshackled banner. Maybe Neri Sharpfin could use this banner for playable gilgoblins. So she could keep the identity of Unshackled (old slaves with several races in their rank: Gilgoblins, Sea giants, Makrura and Murlocs) and we could have a banner for them when they will (officially) be in the Horde.

A forgotten subrace from a forgettable area in a mediocre expansion that serves as proof that for every silly gimmick race Blizzard creates, there is some tastless person who pretends they want to play one for the sake of trolling.
Blizz could make a literal walking turd race and someone would claim they want to play it.
