The kelfin love/allied race discussion thread ✿

Amazing how things change over time. Goblins also went through transitions like this. Unfortunately. Gilgoblins are still using the cata models…

You’re edits also show how much of a change they could go through.

Imagining Gilgoblins as a full fledged AR is one of my favorite things.

Less confident after the Q and A in truth.

Gnomest asked me to post this for them.

Could be a good example of possible hairstyles, Heritage gear and wears.

Very nice piece.

no just no. total garbage.

Definitely gonna have to disagree there. They would be an excellent addition to the game for many many reasons.

Some shell decorations in the hair would be really nice. Algae and other things too.

I disagree entirely. Gilgoblins are an amazing race and the Kelfin in particular are a breath of fresh air.

Seaweed, algae, shells, corals. So many things could be used to enhance their models in unique ways.

no thanks.

first ogres, moknathal, vrykuls, jinyu, nagas, hozen, taunkas, tuskarr among a few others before we even consider this a thing.

The difference between all of those races though is that this race is already unofficially apart of the horde. They should have been playable already. All they need is some model updates and to be formally introduced as a playable race. Second thing is that I know this is just sort of an attempt to shove aside a race you don’t like. Even if all of those races did come first, you come up with another list of races that should then come next.

ogres have been horde from the start LITERALLY BEFORE UNDEADS.
Taunkas are horde ALLIED since wotlk.
Hozen are horde ALLIED since pandaria.

the gilgoblins never joined the faction altho they have a leeway to do so if they wanted to add them in.

Why not all of them?

Gilgoblins are a great race and given how recently they were relevant they would be a likely candidate over many others.

They’re also already ready to walk on into Orgrimmar. (Picture is in Durotar if you cannot tell.)

Something the Ankoan didn’t do for the Alliance.

Kelfin are a very likely AR.

They aren’t even considered for a reason. Blizzard tested the waters with yet another fish race for alliance too and they backed out of giving more allied races. They even ditched sethrak entirely just because of armor issues and gave alliance unfinished gnomes. Mechagnomes deserve a lot better than the atrocity they came out to be. It’s not the first time too, since horde got fudged over with how nightborne don’t look one bit like nightborne.

Gilgoblins are hanging outside durotar and are sticking around for the long time. No other npc race we helped in BFA hanging in Orgrimmar and this came after we saved them from one of the big bads of the expansion being Azshara. I will give credit to ogres. Yea they are apart of the horde and I believe they should have been playable already, but gilgoblins have all the reason more than most of those races to join us and be playable. Taunka joined yes, but they aren’t hanging out in any capital cities.

Blizzard never said no to aquatic races.

I think you are just trolling at this point. Mechagnomes show that armor isn’t a restricting point. They could just have hidden armor slots if they wanted.

You need some citations there friend.

Blizzard brought in some aquatic races and didn’t do anything with them. There is no evidence that they have written them off.

As for the Sethrak? Wowhead long ago proved their armor issues are no different than Tauren or Worgen…

As far as backing out of more AR’s? They said they’d use this method going forward to add races if/when they do.

Many folk also love their Mechagnomes. Your opinion is fine and all but don’t think its the only one that counts.

Nightborne could use some modifications to make them appear slightly more like their NPC models. Since that appears to be what most Nightborne folk want.

mechagnomes literally are unfinished gnomes with placed parts on them ( with even less options) . Let alone how gnomes aren’t really gnomes but dwarfed human body instead of little people like gnomes actually are, which is sad we don’t have options to change their bodies in the first place. So they did a 2 for 2 and ruined another potential allied race.

if your source is wowhead you have problems my friend. Their helmet issue is a huge one and they never cared to continue them as an allied race. Literally cut content. They even have an entire underground zone in volduun.

I got news, they won’t. They can’t even make decent customizations per patch. They need 2 years just to copy paste a race and reskin them as ‘‘allied races’’.

If that where the case you’d see them in numbers. they literally don’t exist in game. That includes original gnomes too. so that’s a blatant lie.

Nightborne need an entire overhaul. They literally have the same night elf animations which make no sense and on top of that their bodies where modified from the npc almost entirely. Now we know that they where the alpha venthyr project they never finished at that time. wrong again.

Its valid. Wowhead shows how easy it is to add a helmet without even changing them from the ones used on Tauren and Worgen.

Sethrak are even based off the Worgen rigs.

Citation needed.

Its just a background for a dungeon. There isn’t much of anything out there.

Its not a whole zone.

Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t mind Sethrak at all, but don’t make things up.

This is your opinion.

I’ll go with what they’ve actually said on that matter.

I don’t think you’re looking… I never have any issues finding plenty when I play.

I can also very honestly say I love my mechagnomes. I have 6 of them.

What about my words was wrong exactly?

Also why do you think the Night Elf animations make no sense?

Also the playable Nightborne are modified off the Night Elf directly. (I admit I don’t know what the NPC nightborne rigs are based off of. I assumed Night Elf as well.)

As far as “alpha venthyr” that sounds like another assumption you’ve made and taken as truth.

Several things in SLs use many of the new rigs. Nightborne, and Kul’tiran seem rather common, but Worgen are in there too.

Hard to say it was an “alpha” anything when it was probably just easy to make use of. Like any other time they’ve reused rigs and model designs.

it’s not made up you can go down there. it’s a zone.

it’s not. they have placed tons of things on things that don’t work in game. you clearly have no idea how this works. also sethrak aren’t even based off model worgen. ffs lmao.

it’s fact. if you go for what they said, we would’ve had more customizations coming a long time ago, let alone this expansion which they ‘‘made a feature’’ and it was a lie. stop boot licking.

10 thousand year race apart from the other. One completely devoted to knowledge of arcane magic while the other one embraced nature fully. They are not the same race or ever will be.

pretty much almost everything you replied lmao.

they are not LOL. we have the original rig now (venthyr).

Its a dungeon.

Sethrak are the female worgen model dude. Its been modified. Go look it up.

Your obvious disappointment towards the customizations doesn’t say anything about whether or not Blizzard is going to introduce further races to the game using the AR system.

Lost faith aside, we just have little to say otherwise. So far Blizzard has said that new full races they add would likely use the AR system.

Aside from the effects of the Nightwell upon them, their general society hasn’t changed a great deal over those ten thousand years. Its not that odd that they’d still have similar stances… Elves don’t exactly embrace change.

Doesn’t matter, just opinions on that front. Not like if I had my way I wouldn’t have changed all the animations on AR’s.

What I said was that they should be modified to fit the NPC models… Then you said I was wrong.

You clearly are coming at this from a very emotional perspective.

I’m sorry blizzard has dashed your hopes and I do hope you manage to find it again.

Nightborne are the Night Elf model modified. Sethrak are from the female model of the Worgen. The Faun folk in the Night Fae are as well.

Half the Jailor’s forces are Kul’tiran rigs. These things are often reused by Blizzard across all of its games.

Chimera’s and Rylaks are another example.

Kelfin are the Goblin model though Gnomest tells me they’re still stuck in the Cata level of detail.

Once Blizzard decides to add them they’ll look great as evidenced by Gnomest’s work bringing them up to par.

I like this but only if Alliance get murlocs.

I’d prefer seeing them paired with Jinyu or Ankoan. Keep up the aquatic races together.

Or my actual favorite option… sethrak… >.> Or Furbolg…

Eh. Murlocs would be fine.
