With the sole exception of zandalari trolls and kul’tirans, this is a true statement. I beleive the original blue post said that most allied races would be baised off of core race bones, and won’t have a large presence in the story.
I hope that doesn’t discount the possibility of gilgoblins as an allied race since Vulpera were based on the goblin rig. All we can do though is be vocal and hope for the best.
They’re darkspear.
Nothing is off the table. Blizzard never said duplicate rigs wouldn’t happen.
Yea. Who knows what lies ahead. Especially now that the slot system was removed.
Since we’ll have a lot of time with Shadowlands, I was thinking that we should think of a few places to check on the Unshackled as we get patches. Given their presence in Durotar, you never know if we might see them appear elsewhere or possibly be making progress in potentially joining the Horde.
Some areas of interest include:
The beaches of Durotar (where some of the named members are).
In the oceans around Ogrimmar (in case there might be underwater activity or potential coves)
Checking on them in Nazjatar (for those who have completed the storyline there)
Possibly a few of the other Horde capital cities (areas with water or oceans around them).
It’s possible nothing will really show up, but I feel that it’s worth a look to check on the Unshackled every now and then. I’d like to think them on the Durotar beach will be leading to something in the near future.
I plan to do some scouting for those Sethrak NPCs that were datamined.
And I’ll keep an eye out for any Kelfin while I’m at it.
(Also if someone wants to give my Sethrak thread a nudge I got some stuff to share. )
GilGoblins will never be a race. Because that would’ve been a good idea, and as we know Blizzard don’t do good ideas.
Nonsense. Blizzard has done plenty of wonderful things that were good ideas.
They made WoW for instance and created all the wonderful races we know and love, playable or not.
Mostly generic Sethrak npcs. But there are a few named ones associated with another fairly major SL’s character. Who is a Sethrak. Or you could say was.
All their locations are “unknown”. So either no one has found them. Or they’re somewhat encrypted files, or added for a later SL’s patch.
Come discuss it at my playable Sethrak thread.
They are heavily altered troll models, but unique non the less.
They also seem to pick up a bad hobby of putting out allot bad ones too imo.
I believe an extensive check was done for Sethrak npcs some time ago. They show up at the Rastakan funeral if I am not mistaken. It certainly would be nice to see more racial representation in this game.
It would be nice if they put this kind of effort into the kelfin models. They could make them a little bit different and it would be very easy to make a model like theirs unique. You’ve see the sea dragon model I crafted.
Dark Irons, Mag’har, and Zandalari Trolls were all good ideas and popular due to being in the lore for most of WoW’s history. Gilblins fit that criteria as well.
Not only do they fit that criteria but they’re literally poised right now to go Horde.
Their leaders are hanging around Durotar, we helped them and have a rep in Nazjatar. They have an interest in working together and are a rag tag bunch of survivor freedom fighters.
They fit the Horde bill perfectly.
Honestly. Its glad to see that at least in the lore sense they are being given proper recognition as a respectable horde race. They should be a playable race though and their models could use an update.
They should and I have no doubt that they’ll get a nice updated model when that time comes.
Folk enjoy the Unshackled, and I think Blizz sees that. Well keep working towards them and making sure blizz sees the support.
Who knows maybe they’ll like my idea about cutting a big new dock into the rock wall of Orgrimmar and Finally make the city a nice new dedicated dock with Sea Giants helping to tow in ships and taking cargo, Gilgoblins assisting in repairs and ship maintenance, and makrura moving about as guards. Be one heck of a look!
So much potential. They should be a full fledged and respected members of the horde. The sheer amount of value they have to offer to the horde is very good. By the way. Love how that mog is coming along. You are really looking the part.
Absolutely they do. They feel like a horde race, and group. They are right there!
Even the Ankoan don’t feel so Alliancey as the Unshackled feel Horde.
Kelfin are just so perfect.
Thanks, I rather like how it looks. Really need to suss out what my Gilgoblin will actually be and get one leveled to stand in until they release though… Also to reserve a nice name.
Got a character standing in for Sethrak so I might as well have one for this too.
A trident or harpoon would go nicely with that.
Yeah. I don’t wanna go Survival on this one though.
Also haven’t decided what class I want my actual Kelfin to be yet…
I got a lot of hunters already… But I like this mail set. And a trident would be prefect.
Don’t think Shaman can use trident though.
