i mean theyd be cool, but the way blizz designed the allied races its just unlikely they would go back on that
i would settle for a customization option at the least though if they couldnt be allied races because at least you could have the apearance of one
Blizzard has said that AR’s are the most likely way we will see new races in the future. They’re much easier to implement than core races.
Yeah… no.
That will never be good enough. It’d be like Bronzebeard dwarves cosplaying as Wildhammer right now. Its not the race.
Truth be told out of all of the allied race requests that haven’t happened so far gilblins fans kind have things the best in the regard that we have our faction leaders represented at a capital city which means on some level they will always have some relevance to the horde and we do have some customization already that can work.
I have my goblin shaman looking like this and I love it. Now if we could get a bluer skin with some more tatoos, fin, ear customization and foot customization that would be great. Like all those things you see in my model edits. It would also be nice if they rolled out druids for goblins but just made goblin druids have gilblin stuff. However dispite all this, I am never going to settle with just customization cause think about it for a minute. Gilblins that can’t breath is almost as bad as eredar that can’t be warlocks. Plus honestly.
If they actually put this kinda effort into them but with more of a professional touch, I think they could easily be as popular as vulpera. Also lets think about this. Don’t you think that the kelfin and vulpera would make excellent partners in lore? They are both survivalists specialized to different environments from the same faction with a lot in common really. If kelfin became playable they should be partners with the vulpera and/or goblins. Although some people have said that they wouldn’t get along with goblins because goblins are essentially the opposite of them in nature.
This immensely.
There are some other races that are close but not as close be it Ogres, Revantusk, Taunka, ect.
Kelfin are right there and were recently involved.
Yep and non the less. Of all races, they are easily one of the most deserving that outta be an AR.
They’d also said that any new core races added would just use the same allied race framework that’s set up. It’s all the same system.
I wish they’d go a proper subrace setup like a fan did over on the EU forums.
This is part of why, they deserved more.

I wish they’d go a proper subrace setup like a fan did over on the EU forums.
So long as they didn’t come up with a gimped low effort version of gilblins with no racials. The issue I have with people suggesting them as customization is that this is usually suggested by people who don’t like the race and want to relegate it to something less good. Plus gilgoblins have some unique geometry and with the proper effort they could even transcend from being a subrace. Also something like this may mean no unique racials, voice lines, gilgoblin druids and other good stuff that comes with allied races.
I think all of the subraces/allied races are deserving of new voice sets, heritage armor, and racials.
On the EU mock up, they had some images further down showing off an idea I’ve seen tossed around a lot of letting people choose the racials.
Having some of the races thrown in just as customization sucks.
Another thing I would also be concenred about is that if blizzard starts adding a system like this, they could start doing some of these races poorly. Like gilgoblins have a lot of potential if they decide to do what they did with zandalari and kultirans but with gilgoblins. Give them a new rig and/or body shape. However if they are just added into one of these subraces, they may not even get all those unique sets of geometry gilblins have. They may just add a bluish skin tint and call it a day. Thats not what I want. You see the thing about races like wildhammer and high elves is that there is visually barely any difference between them besides a few different eyecolors and tatoos. Though I am aware wildhammer could be druids. Wildhammer and high elves fall along the lines of highmountain tauren and lightforged draenei.
I’ve read a number of times that Wildhammer are actually taller and leaner, but that’s something we didn’t get. I just wanted them done as a proper allied race in the same manner as the Dark Iron were.
High Elves should have been a proper allied race as well, not just customizations thrown in with Void Elves.
For clarity, I want the allied race treatment, but I did like the subrace style grouping for the creation menu as shown on the EU link.
I like your idea a lot actually. Its similar to what terranox brought up. I had a look at that idea that you pointed out on the EU forums and it is honestly a good idea.
As nice as this would be…
But this is what I fear as well.
Technically that is sourced from the RPG which is not canon but it easily could have been made canon with an AR.
Absolutely this.
I’m less enthused with this but also this.
I haven’t read the entire thread, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned (I love the idea of playable Kelfin, so take this +1 from me!)
What about…Horde Wastewanders? :3
Wait the humans in the Uldum Desert?
Wouldn’t you rather have the Alteraci thin humans join the Horde?
That’s a good option too, I just think the Wastewanders are a naturally good fit for the Horde. Plus they now have unique skin tones, eye colors, click quotes, and a voiced leader.
Thank you for the support! I can see wastewanders being a good AR too. It may be some time before there are new races added. However I am going to continue supporting races like these for some time.
If kelfin become a thing and Neri isn’t the leader, I’m going to be so sad. but I won’t be sad, because Neri WILL become the leader of the kelfin and I will be super happy. Because of reasons
Neri for peacechief! She will make the horde a safe happy place for everyone and greatly improve the moral of the horde. Speaking of. It does beg the question. Where would the unshackled have their central home in Orgrimmar if they became playable? It could be durotar shores, but what if they got a nice spot in Azshara.
I imagine they’d get a special version of Nazjatar.
Or maybe they make an enclave in that flooded canyon in Durotar.
My biggest wish would be that Orgrimmar gets a new section built out of the Eastern wall of its canyon that leads to a new dock and the Unshackled live around there.
Had something neat to show you guys. For the Shellhaven Discord my friend came up with these cute emotes. None for Vim so far. I think these embrace the spirit of Poen and Neri well. And neat. We just hit 400 replies. Keep the support going. I am willing to keep it up for the long haul through Shadowlands. We will make it known that kelfin are a wanted allied race. For Nazjatar!
