What do you mean by old greg?
I too do not understand this reference.

This gives me suspicions that they are just as smart as land goblins. Just because they don’t have tech right now, doesn’t necessarily make them less smart. They were enslaved by the naga for a while after all and maybe they weren’t in the best situation to build tech. However this is purely speculative.
I too do not understand this reference.
Seems to be some kind of half man half sea monster thing. This is apparently what he looks like.
If only shamans could wield polarms then I could equip some kind of trident or at least if there was some kind of mace or axe like trident. So far seen non that work quite right.
This is a fair assessment, however being able to use technology doesn’t mean you know how to make it.
It would be nice to get a better read overall by seeing them get access to greater technology through the Horde. Then we could tell for sure.
Interesting.
Man, everyone should be able to use polearms. Its historically been the most used weapon type in combat…
The transmog restrictions are already tight as is. I can understand things like weapons and stuff. However there is a lot of other types of armor I would find quite neat to wear if was possible.
I just want ppl to note, if the horde get’s an aquatic race (gilgoblin in this case) then there is a chance that ankoan (jynyu sub race) could get a chance too for alliance.
Btw good job on the art gnomest, keep it coming
The only thing though has me speculative about that is that the jinyu didn’t show up at a capital city along side the unshackled and they were sort of written as a dying species. No doubt they would be a great addition, but what if we end up getting some other kind of aquatic race?
That would be preferred I think.
What I worry is that if blizzard isn’t into the idea of adding aquatic races altogether. Well have to see if that one day changes. I definitely don’t think gilgoblins should be barred on account of being aquatic because nearly every zone in azeroth has some body of water or river running through it and the unshackled are hanging out in a desert area. They can clearly breath air just fine too.
There is other examples of dying species in the game playable already, mostly on horde side though.
That is also why I would put them as a sub speices of ankoan also
Anyways back to gilgoblins!
But ya, In that case they would make an excellent pairing with gilgoblins. I also wonder if naga are on the table given nzoth is dead, but the devs may not have any interest in ever making them playable. I like your new high elf look by the way.
How about hair like this? Though admittedly the hair would probably better be suited to a naga.
Looks good, but becareful it might give some people ideas
I am going to try to make a visualization of that hair. Will post once ready. Although I don’t want to rush it either.
Oh? What ideas are those?
I can’t wait!
Here is another tentacle style. This is a rough draft though. I want there to be a new texture with more detail, an underlying part that kinda has a scale layer and clearly defined suction cups that are attached to the model with some color changing effects.
I don’t think full tentacle hair like this:

As awesome as it looks works though. If naga ever become playable though, this would be awesome. It just seems like it would be switching it a bit for gilgoblins to have full tentacle hair. Some though like void elves. Thats fine.
By the way. I figured out how to do color changing skin. Ill be saying if I can make a visual representation of that sometime.
The Unshackled in Nazjatar were fantastic characters and as a roleplayer I’d love to play one, I adored their optimistic altruism and helpful attitudes, it was super cute and made me love them. 100% would play one if they got made into an allied race. They’ve been on Azeroth for a while, back in Cata they were in Vas’jir so they’re an established race, not that that matters since Vulpera got to be an AR and were unknown prior to BFA. But hey, history!
Indeed. I find their lore interesting. What I would like to see along with them becoming an allied race is future adventures with them among the horde and more tapping into their origins even if through some side plot. There is a lot of interesting questions that can be raised about the origins of this race.
Gnomest/Evablossom
I am going to continue putting for ideas and making fanart in hopes it resonates with blizz. These guys should definitely be playable.
