Perfect as I thought! I have a good idea where to start. Thanks Zerde.
It was a good idea to add Marran Trollbane then, hope it does not stop with that novela, we need a good stir in the pot character if faction conflict become a thing, if like ever lol. But like mention a WarChief does needs its wars, I guess!
I’m glad they are focusing on developing the races culture and nations if Blizz decided to return to a faction conflict side story at some point in the future, I can see problematic characters like Marran Trollbane being essential for Alliance Side drama… now we need more of them! IMO (Obviously this is just my silly option I mean nothing by it, just in case! Right now is all about saving Azeroth!)
Ah… this is good, I’m so inspired right now. Returning from the holidays will be good.
They advertised it as a noble savages trying to find their place in the world. But also a people trying to find their feet spiritually again. Which is exactly where we are now oh and:
And I think also the Horde will have its own version of that, you know, stopping to consider what’s happened the past couple of years and what’s been lost and fighting its feet again, spiritually. And that’s gonna play out in ways I think people don’t expect yet, which is really exciting to me
That was from Metzen in MoP. Personally I dont think the Horde was “finding its feet” again spiritually yet after MoP. Or more precisely it didnt have the time to do considering we all had to deal with the Iron Horde and then Legion.
Maybe now after another world war it will do so. Maybe it will fall again, maybe it wont and the Alliance will cause the inciting incident this time or maybe the factions will end up just merging together. Who knows.
I never thought of him that way you do make a point he literally is was an outcast in all sense, have good relations, it’s really strong and Ogres is a race no one is expecting to be added but could be very well welcome and like especially if they look like Rexxar. Now that I think about it most Races look rather fit, but we never had a races that looks like a bodybuilder the size of Kul Tiran’s (Forest Trolls being the kings of that with their Hulks special NPCs! Follow by Vrykul I think)… Hmmm I think they be popular, specially if the females look also as fit as the males, but with their curves and features in the right place and size…IMO.
Hmmm I wonder if Blizz add them would they have the 2 head option, one eye and/or they give them 3 eyes like DBZ Tien character! And add an option to be like a Muscle builder like Rexxar or just use Kul’tiran thick form, maybe both? lol Either would be really nice and unique, the more customization any race has the better IMO.
It is why I like Alterac Valley as a BG from a lore perspective. The Frostwolves kept to themselves after they were banished from the Horde shortly into the First War. They settled into a valley in the Alterac Mountains that was mostly uninhabited. Not even the Kingdom of Alterac had forts or bases in the valley. The Frostwolves did not get involved in the second war either. They were basically WoW’s Switzerland. Just instead of being on top a mountain surrounded on all sides during a war (or two), they were in a valley. As such they were not attacked by the Alliance, even during the post war round ups for the interment camps. That is until a group of Bronzebeard Dwarfs, the Stormpike Clan entered the region to try and find Titan artifacts. It is intentionally left vague on who attacked first, but it does lean towards the Stormpike Clan being the ones who did. Given that the Frostwolves were neutral during the first and second wars. Outside of liberating the orcs from the interment camps, the Frostwolves actively wanted to stay outside of the faction conflict. Even the Cata update to Hillsbrad / Alterac Mountains retains this idea. Where Drek’thar refuses to send forces to help the Forsaken against a massive Alliance death army. Mainly because the Forsaken are obviously villains and Drek’thar is obviously ashamed of his role in the Old Horde. Even if being a warlock was only a short moment in his life.
The idea that an Alliance allied army were the aggressors feels nice. Given that most faction conflicts in the game are started by the Horde… or once neutral factions (conflict in Ashenvale)
You know, with more and more people angry at the idea Gallywix being made into a raid/dungeon boss…Im really not sure about this.
I think he’s an interesting character, but as the Goblin leader again?
I’m one of the ones who’s annoyed about fighting Gallywix, because I’m just tired of fighting Horde leaders and former leaders.
The devs were clearly determined to oust him as Goblin leader, so, fine, whatever. But if they want to bring him back, there are ways to do it that wouldn’t involve him returning as Goblin leader or as a loot pinata.
As an example off the top of my head, he could be trying to rebuild his fortunes by sailing around in a merchant ship. It would be neutral territory, where players of both factions could buy silly “money sink” cosmetic items. Maybe Griftah would be on board as well. The captain’s cabin would have a laughable, cobbled-together “throne” and a desk full of amusing readable items—drafts of letters where Gallywix tries to ingratiate himself with the other cartels to get a loan. If you descend all the way to the hold, you find a black market auction house. This ship could reappear in future expansions in different locations, possibly getting a little nicer (or not) each time.
I dont mind him not being a boss, but 100% not as a leader. I cant see either faction being cool with him after everything hes done. If they wanted to do some kind of redemption arc and make him a good guy, sure, but outside that’s its a hard sell.
I’m gonna disagree on this and say it was the Frostwolves who lean on being the one who started crap. At least according to the Stormpike’s story the frostwolves slaughter archaeologists and explorers first and the military only got involved after.
Also, all of Alterac Valley was Alliance claimed land. If anything, it was stupid of the Frostwolves to go back when they already had a home in Ogrimmar, I mean, wasn’t that the point of leaving EK altogether? So they wouldn’t have to end up in war?
Even if that was the case the fate of Alterac was still in dispute and the Alliance, COLLECTIVE, not Lordaeron, held it. Hence the entire issue in Day of the Dragon.
First, it was up to King Terenas. Second, they were basically absorbed into Lordaeron. Guess who his heir is? Guess which faction’s council she serves on?
On the other hand, Calia puts the modern Alliance first every time push comes to shove, so she would probably bequeath it to Danath or something equally stupid if it were ever her call to make.
