The harsh truth; the "Dracthyr" were a mistake for Warcraft

I have multiple at max adventuring, and at least one who slogged through nearly all the craft classes (I will finish that last 10 levels in Crystalshaping one day). I would consider them a success, yes. They are fun to play if you like dragons. You can dig out your own lair, fly, breathe a variety of elements, etc. They play a little differently than the other races since they are off doing their own thing, but that is okay.

Heh, they even have a bipedal form that looks much like Dracthyr (but without the wings) because fitting a house sized dragon character through doorways is an experience.

The game itself is old, though. It has old MMO sensibilities. I love it because it was my first MMO, but it definitely is a lot more slower paced and confusing at times compared to modern games. It also shows its age graphically, which fair enough, can be a turn off for a lot of people.

Mind you though, I also like the Dracthyr in WoW too. The athletic model was something I actually liked, having never been a fan of the Drakonid model. Would have loved if they had just given us actual dragons and let us choose a race as our Visage form while letting us choose a dragon form for out of combat stuff if we wanted, but barring that I am still happy with the Dracthyr we got.

100% of dev attention that was put towards Dracthyr should have been put towards upgrading character customizations so that every race is on par with what Dracthyr visages currently are. Look at the amount of customizations they have. Now look at a core race. Heck, I have 1 page. 1. And I’m a copy/pasted model. Legit bogus.

or maybe we should have had cool dragons in the dragon expac instead of catering to moon guard.

I had honestly been hoping that they had been using Dracthyr and their Visage as a test bed for things they wanted to add to the other races, but nothing ever happened. You know, things like hair tints, body types, etc. :frowning:

Maybe if they were cool I’d like them more but I’m really stuck on the customization issue. The difference in options is honestly ridiculous.

Can only hope. It’s the stuff like the unique, ornate hair, the highlights, the jewelry, even the actual shapes of things. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good. It’s super good. But I really want to see that energy put towards the races we have.

They are cool. You’re just upset they’re more wyrm/serpent-ish than drake-like.

Naw, I agree. I love the Dracthyr and what they did with them, but the other races deserve love too. The customisation patches they did a while back were a start, but not nearly enough in some cases. There are still some things I would love for Dracthyr (mostly more scale colours), but I advocate bringing the other races up in quality first.

Everyone likes more choice.

Then why say

This is clearly comparison of the level of quality and quantity of customizations that Dracthyr have hen compared to other races. Wyrm or drake doesn’t matter.

Agreed. Here’s hoping the visage is like you said, a test bed for things. Fem human and male elf seem like decent, simple models to do as such with.

I see reading comprehension remains a scarce commodity in america

Agreed. I don’t understand how you were unable to grasp that this is about customizations when it was specifically stated.

Being god tier pvp and pve helps.

I much prefer Dracthyr over more cute elf dressup options thank you

Not even. They just look like someone’s weird DeviantArt abomination.

Flew over to Goldshire and there wasn’t a single lizard there. They don’t want them either, and that’s saying something.

The accurate, proportional reptiles scare people with poor taste, like human paladins.

What will we ever do without the approval of men who ERP on an MMO?

Their uncanny smiling does scare me, yes.

You’re a human paladin. Anything darker than beige scared you.

i hear/read that mechagnomes make the best mages but because they’re so odd, no one wants to play them, except for a few brave souls. and thats fine by me - it means it wont be worth the effort to nerf them. hehe!
