The harsh truth; the "Dracthyr" were a mistake for Warcraft

Anything to not give us tinkers.

I think dracthyr are as close to playable dragons one could ask, they breath firez they use magic from every flight, they fly around. Pretty draconic to me.

Warcraft 2 chen stormstout looks basically identical to how he does now idk what your on about theyre just anthropromorphic pandas lmao

I can’t take the OP seriously because they claimed their opinion was fact.

For me, it’s more so the class than the race that bothers me - but I also realize that a lot of people like them, so I’m happy for whoever they are :dizzy:

Its clear kung fu panda had a huge influence for MOP, the timing was just too perfect They capitalized on the movie and the fact pandarias existed. After all, MOP was a april fools joke that became too popular.

OP is a mistake for Warcraft.

That is fair. Istaria is a niche MMO, and ever older than WoW. While the devs are still active, both they and the playerbase are small. It goes under a lot of radar.

Best way to put Aerakyn would be basically our current Visage forms, but with wings. Not bad, but not nearly as draconic as I would have liked. I do agree that the Dracthyr are better than the Drakkin or Au Ra though. Specially since the Au Ra have no ties to dragons at all. Least the Drakkin were intertwined with em.

Nope, pandaren were around way before kung fu panda kid

Stop asking for high elves they are endangered

Did it have a direct influence or are they just both inspired from chinese culture…i think theyre just both heavily inspired from chinese culture, which makes sense because pandas are unique to china lmao

Kinda agree with you OP…

TBH, if other races could be Evokers, I would feel a lot less inclined to be a Dracthyr at all. (Aside from the obvious questions of how do we replicate things like Fire Breath on non-dragonkin characters?)

And also, if Dracthyr had no Visage form, I probably wouldn’t play my Evoker at all. And it feels like the game forces me into non-Visage form all the time. Its kind of like how it was playing a Boomy (before Glyph of Stars) if you were the type of person to hate Moonkin form.

Full on Dragon Visage ( like YSera) would have been cool. We could have just flew over Ohn’naran plains and flamed that bleeping Mammoth .

To me the biggest mistake Blizzard made was trying to force Dracthyr to conform to the same rules as other denizens of Azeroth. They should have been designed similar to a Druid with two forms but their transformation can only happen during combat.

In either form their bodies are covered by scales not flesh. They don’t need armor, especially when in their “dragon form”. Clothes are only when in non combat so they aren’t naked.

When druids turn into a bear/cat they don’t display armor nor would a dracthyr in dragon form.
