The genius of fresh start TBC only

I can’t have more than 1 reason why a forced fresh BC is a bad idea? And you still haven’t answered my question, which expansion forced all players to start back at level 1?

I don’t care, I’ve already done it. Give one reason other than gold, why I should be forced to do it again.

TF is bis through T5 iirc, and atiesh is bis for while too. Serious raid guilds will be farming vanilla raids for items they already earned in classic, ie a waste of time.

BE’s

Good luck finding decent arena teams on a dead faction.

They why do you even play?

You’re right, they should progress every server to BC and get rid of vanilla.

Also blizz’s stated goal for the classic project is to deliver as authentic a classic experience as they can, a forced fresh BC would be the least authentic way they could possibly do BC

I’ve still yet to see anyone make an argument other than gold as to why we should have a forced fresh BC

LoL give one reason including gold.

Boo freaking Hoo someone gets flying before you do. Too bad so sad.

  • making old content relevant again
  • Reestablishing community, solidified by shared play
  • and people who are handcuffed to parses and speed running can choose to reacquire such things. Again, they are not “necessary” to clear content.

and? Are you suggesting that only a reset would “force” you to roll a BE?

Your guild/community sure must be a strong bond if you cannot manage an arena team to stick together.

To waste time while doing something enjoyable? Same reason I watch TV :man_shrugging:

Go for it, I would gladly go to a PS and play where the admins actually care about the state of the game.

They will be separate entities, or their IP will be lost. You were never promised TBC, much less TBC as a continuation of vanilla classic.

How about this one:

  • mega server populations in Hellfire?

I sold all my stuff and made sure I had enough gold for flying. Outside of that you don’t really need gold. Just farm your own mats and join a guild that does a loot system not based on gold.

If only there was a solution to this, oh right, layering.

I stand to lose a hefty sum if it were reset, and the hours spent gaining it are far more than it would have taken me in real-world hours to simply buy it.

The people that generate their gold legitimately definitely care more about losing it than people that buy it.

Guaranteed.

For me, a fresh start is something I would supremely dislike and I am broke. But I have taken the time to quest out about every zone and learn about every skill I could and max out weapon skills as much as possible.

Sure I do. I dont want to re-level a brand new character through Azeroth again and not get to experience TBC content for a week or even longer after Classic TBC’s launch.

don’t give the plot away bro

Link me where they stated they would be separate entities please.

Same solution they used in classic, layering. Also iirc BC brought us dynamic respawns, which makes farming and questing much easier with higher pops.

Exactly, who cares. Plus making gold in outland isn’t particularly difficult with dailies and stuff. The epic mount that unobtainable for most people back in vanilla was bought by everyone within the first 2-3 months of classic. In fact raiding Naxx every week costs more than that mount now anyway lol.

I hope they release both regular TBC Classic transfer servers, & some sort of no-transfer fresh-start servers (whether starting at lvl 58 or lvl 1). I know where most of the toxics & exploit/cheat/parse-prone people will be heading, which is what makes a fresh, no-transfer server that much more appealing to call home.

Why are people lobbying for one or the other when both fresh and transfer servers can coexist. Stop the crying.

The biggest reason these lazy, self entitled, no naxx clearing, no r14 having, or no black bug mount owning having selves keep flooding the forums with their horrendous dog s%#@ idea is the fact they all know if blizzard decides to do both fresh and progression servers in which their is a good chance blizz will provide said server types, that the fresh servers will be dead within half a year or less. A vast majority of players are not going to waste their time with such a stupid idea and want to go to a server riddled with people who can’t pull their weight in a community or in a raid. What makes it funnier is that their fresh servers will be the most susceptible to RMT, because a completely new economy is much easier to take over and riddling a fresh server with your bots or multiboxers makes it easier to control the AH vs coming in later or transferring servers in some cases.

TLDR: Fresh server idea is bad made by bad players who know their servers will die, because no one wants to play with their unskilled bad attitudes. Make their stupid server blizzard so they can all get consolidated in their areas and so we don’t have to hear their whining. These fresh only players KNOW FOR A 100% FACT their server dies when their is a progression server choice. THAT IS WHY they’re ALL OR NOTHING!

It’s a video game, not a religion. The way you talk about it is far too serious and exclusive - Anyone can pay $15 a month and play Classic, and they’re just as much actual true players of classic as your questionably-termed “true fans” are. MMOs like Classic are meant to improve, as per suggestions made. Suggestions that go against #nochanges are perfectly valid and not trolling at all like you suggest they are.

Classic has already changed. TBC should be allowed to improve as well.

Time gating the raid releases, progressive patches, and something to address the potentially serious faction imbalance are really the most and only needed changes.

Fresh TBC only = 99% horde 1% alliance regardless of the server because the PVE advantages for the Horde are kinda crazy. (you may turn your nose at 1 to 3% output, but PVE players are just way too easy to tempt in that way)

Unlike Classic where Alliance and Horde are closer matched in PVE, this simply is no longer the situation in TBC.

As a result, TBC on a “FRESH” server is kinda bad, this has been displayed over and over again on the private servers, and its the same nearly every time.

So what can be done to resolve some of the problems?

  1. 1K Gold cap per account going into TBC.
  2. Strictly controlled character sign up for servers with faction stacking restrictions that looks at accounts rather than “characters” for signups, this way ratios never go beyond 60/40 splits, that’s where things still feel very healthy even if slightly out of balance.
  3. POSITIVELY NO character boost provided by Blizzard at any point ever.

That’s about the only way you can really do a semi “Fresh” TBC without a real mess on your hands, because soon as you take away character investment that was built during Vanilla in full you will have nothing but horde servers.

The reasons that Horde only servers suck.

  1. For those of us who like Battlegrounds it sucks because often times games will be canceled due to not enough players.
  2. For those of us who like Arena it will suck because the pool of competitive and skilled players sucks on alliance side in turn kinda restricting your ability to advance in 3’s in a competitive way.
  3. For those of us who like to Raid Alliance side its gonna suck super bad, because fresh servers with maybe enough people to regularly fill a Kara raid isn’t what I call raiding… Count your self lucky if you can get enough for any other raid and good luck clearing it when all the decent players are now horde and you are gonna struggle trying to get people on the same page…

TL:DR Fresh TBC SUCKS BAD.

Class balancing - at least making unviable specs viable - would have done a world of wonders in Classic. If people want to get mad at me saying that, so be it, but some changes are good. This is not going to be '04 Vanilla. TBC will not be '07 TBC. We can’t go back to 2004 or 2007, if things can be improved with changes that weren’t in the original release, they should be. There’s nothing wrong with that.
