No one is forcing you. You have a group of people who arbitrarily decided delves are required… if you actually even get a decent piece to use, from the vault slot. Also, only so many pieces you can put in the cataluyst, too.
You do not need to do delves to unlock any content.
You make (or in this case, agree) to the choice.
Just because you want content to work a certain way to make you feel better about being “forced” to do delves does not mean others have to agree.
Or - an this may be a radical idea or concept for you - maybe you can just be happy that there are more options to help you get hero level gear so you can progress through content faster, rather than complaining about it.
Again, your game experience is not everyone’s game experience.
The subject of this thread reminds me of when I got into an argument with someone on forums about how you couldn’t get good gear solo in Vanilla WoW.
Then I brought up the 0.5 tier dungeon set and the pre bis blue tier set and PVP gear and they acted like they didn’t know wtf I was talking about.
Most classes had an item they could get in pugs. Yes, it technically isn’t purely solo, but if you weren’t being helped by your guild, it was the earliest form of pugging.
For those who didn’t play Vanilla back in the day, if you had the full blue class set, it was a sign of prestige. Before BWL even came out, that blue set was insane lol. Lets just say I spent many hours in Scholo and LBRS.
First thing…those high end players have other options for hero track gear besides delves, options which also provide way more crests. Since you can only get one vault item anyway three delve choices are pretty much extraneous.
Second…delves were advertised as a pillar so more casual players could get heroic gear. Limiting delves to champ track would have more than likely led to fewer players which is bad for all parts of the game. As it is I feel cheated since gilded crests to upgrade heroic track past the champ level aren’t available via delves so that’s a scam from Daddy Blizz.
It’s up to Blizz where delve rewards stay but my bet is they stay nearly the same, otherwise they face a loss of casual players. Which i doubt they want.
That’s not the issue. The issue is that you can level 70>80 with a character, not equip a piece of gear along the way, and complete content that has a chance for end-of-delve hero track gear because the tuning is so incredibly low. If delves had difficulty somewhat similar to early heroic raid bosses or +6s and 7s, that’d be appropriate rewards, but you can clear T8s before hitting the ilvl to queue heroic dungeons.
As for gilded crests, that’s also simply incorrect.
I understand that delves can offer additional heroic slots in the vault.
But feel free to continue to be so angry about having extra vault slots for a heroic gear each week in your vault.
If you nerf the gear, then you have less options in the vault. If you do not like the content, making it harder to get the same rewards will not eliminate your concerns, since you still feel you got to run it (and it will take longer).
Sounds like you are in a bad place.
I cannot believe how life is so terribly hard and unfair to give you more choice in helping you succeed in the game.
Making the content actually challenging will add some interest to it, as well as make it not the de-facto way to get hero track being laughably trivial compared to the other options.
Eeeeh I wouldn’t call delves the prime way to get hero gear in any way shape or form. Champion on the other hand, yeah, big time. As it is right now anyway.
Snozay is a different person. I have advocated for making delves actually hard, like +7 or early heroic raid boss hard at T8 with enrage timers and meaningful sources of damage. Otherwise, make them cap out at champion track rewards and nobody will care that you can do it in S1 DF items.
Again, you speak as if only your game experience matters.
You have stated either you want to make the content harder for the same rewards (that you somehow will continue to feel forced forced to do and would also take you longer to complete, especially for someone who has admitted they have limited playing time), or leave the content as is but have lesser rewards (from which you cannot benefit at all).
I believe it’s +4, and I’d sincerely like to see 5 people timing M+ dungeons even at that level at low 410s ilvl. Much less 6s or 7s, which is a more appropriate comparison because delves aren’t limited just to vault for hero track gear.
