That’s only something a scrub would say to hide their main character on forums.
What difficult content in Wow doesn’t have an easier version?
Feel free to check it out.
It kind of is though when they only focus on making content for one type of player. Sure they aren’t specifically not making content for the OP but when they prioritize one type of content over all others, which may or may not be the case but certainly feels like it to those of us who aren’t interested in M+ or raiding, then in essence they are purposely not making content for the other types of players. It’s easy not to notice when they are focusing on the content you like.
Why is your guild name in french? You see that’s your first problem. Fix that.
So you you’re not a noob. Okay so if you’re frustrated, and not having fun, why not just quit? Why go on forums and spew out this nonsense?
What? You want the game to be easy? No challenge or brains involved?
On a side note the valor system will probably give you what you want because valor will be the reward so you don’t have to do the hardest things to get the most, just wait until Tuesday or something.
Little do you realize I also have a tank I clear Heroic and do some keys on and I still generally don’t feel the way OP described.
Just needs to cater less to the 2-5 % and a bit more to the 90 % . I get elite pvp and m raiders should have the best gear Just lessen the gap
WoW hasn’t been about “the adventure” since Wrath.
Since cataclysm it’s been a bout railroading you to level cap where “the game begins” so to speak
I don’t find the difficulty of the content to be the issue, but rather the toxicity brought to such content by LFG folks. I’m sure if you have a group of friends / guild mates to run difficult content with it’s not so bad. Running with angsty teens from LFG just makes me want to log off.
It’s not hard it is just empty and goes away every time they reset so people no longer care and leave, that is all that is happening atm. The gae is loosing it.s draw and it can no longer hold because it is sloppy n shallow.
I’ll never understand ppl saying they play WoW for the story or that the story is a strong aspect of the game. Like…have you played any other RPGs?
Folks, the story is paper thing. The game was designed around an RTS, an Age of Empires sort of RTS. The story and the connection between quests, in-game activities, and story has never been a strong point, and by the time WotLK came around, the lore-ish requirements were largely dispensed with because players found them cumbersome.
If you want immersive RPG lore, play another game. Really. My preference is SWTOR, but any one of the top 5 most popular MMORPGs will be more story-driven than WoW. WoW is the template for tiered/layered end-game. Incidentally, that also means constant and larger updates than any other MMORPG that I’ve come across.
So if you want more updates of a certain kind, yeah. Sure. Ask away. I don’t think anyone would object to more content of any kind. If you want to get away from the model that has literally maintained WoW’s preeminence in the MMORPG world, including one of the rare few that doesn’t have to rely on pay-to-win and can still charge a subscription fee for any type of game access, then you’re barking up the wrong tree, imo.
yeah. for instance, they turned professions into…real work.
imagine grinding all the mats to make 15x of each tier of lego. Then do it 5 more times for each equip slot. and if you don’t want to do that, that’s cool. you can also…wait…no…there’s nothing else to craft that’s useful beyond lvl 55ish. good gawd, this is how they “saved” professions? well, they did one thing at least, they created an epic chore that requires zero skill, just dedication to mindnumbing resource grinds.
it’s very simple.
Making content that feels adventurous and exciting takes time and manpower. All things that Acti-blizz absolutely HATES with a flaming passion, because they take away from the bottom line.
So why would they spend those things on making “adventurous” content when they can get people to stay subbed by having them do the same. exact. dungeons. over and over again hundreds of times, but harder?
tldr:
hard content = ez on the budget.
Over the years, the more WoW moved to an Esport, the less I subbed. I’ve felt the RPG element was going extinct for a while now.
to be fair, the story essentially ended with Legion.
yes, there’s the old gods. yes, there’s this cooked-up thing where the lich king is part of the jailer’s design, etc.
but let’s be honest here, Legion wrapped up the series in a pretty tight bow.
Which is why I am playing offline RPG games again. I feel rewarded all the time, and I get to be immersed. The thing I do like on WoW’s side of it is I do like cool things, or fun gadgets. Those pieces of candy are always fun to chew on.
Agreed. The game does feel like it finished, and it could explain why SL feels detached from the franchise.
I have to agree with op the game seems to more complex than simple like it use to be. Two part wq’s ,jumping hoops or flying through them seem fun to some but not fun to others which have height issues, spiders everywhere for those that scared of them and bait -trapped people I don’t consider being fun at all and thing popping out of the woodwork draining the interest mentally. Really ,who design this to be entertaining? when after you just want to crawl in bed and try to sleep it off.
Not much frustration in my experience. I’ve taken 3 alts now, other than this main I’m posting on, into shadowlands, and on each, I go for a pure casual experience. Very little other than questing and queue able content. And I’m having tons of relaxing fun on all of them.
There is so much to do in this game. There is not enough time to do it all.
And as for how the expansions are created, they have to be layed out in a way that get the most people sharing experiences together. The risk of providing too many activities means those activities will potentially feel dead.
However, when I’m leveling up in 3 different time periods, legion, mop, and bfa timelines for dungeons and some quests, there were people there to do dungeons with me. I found very little negative behavior. Only one time someone messaged me a dirty comment, but it wasn’t about my gameplay. I think they were trying to be naughty funny. Just settled for not
My point is, you can play this game without the emphasis on gear and have a great time. I’m doing it on my alts.
What I actually see happening on the forums is people want a casual experience but ALSO the same gear that people get from doing difficult content. That’s where I just kind of roll my eyes. My alts are all under 200 item level, and they’re kicking butt in the content they do, and I’m having fun just doing quests and easy dungeons with way fewer mechanics than what my main practices and struggles and eventually overcomes. And I love it.
Maybe just try to enjoy the game at a relaxing pace.
My only tip is that to really enjoy the casual side of things, it helps to pick a casual class like a tank or a dps with a pet. Makes things easier when you don’t overgear content as much. For example, a 195 bm hunter can easily do layer 8 torghast, but that can be rough on a rogue. Not that it can’t be done. It’s just much more stressful.
OP seems to be misremembering WoW’s history…or just doesn’t like MMOs in general.
OP also seems to be implying if you don’t like the same things as he does in a game…you aren’t a WoW fan.
Which is interesting, considering OP wants to turn WoW into a game its never been.
