where in the lore has it actually be proven that paladins are “good” they remind me of flesh eater courts and even ingame a lot of their spells are pretty dark. Blessings are two sided, if you bless someone at the wrong time it pushes them to do the wrong thing, typically resulting in their demise. Or you bless them, they think you’re looking over their shoulder, meanwhile you’ve turnt around and ran all because you forgot to say something revealing AFTER you blessed them.
Death knights should’ve been in classic available to every race and paladins should’ve been the unlockable hero class. Every race has been a paladin since the start

The problem is people cherry pick between gameplay mechanic compromises and story.
Everyone’s got their pet peeves. It’s weird that people get so bent out of shape about lore when gameplay mechanics has trumped lore in some aspects since the beginning.
They don’t even have to have a lore friendly explanation. Our characters don’t really exist. We only exist in the general sense. We are not lore

People need to stop getting up in arms about other players’ choices regarding their PCs. If you don’t like the race/class combo, don’t play it or with people that play it. Form a ‘lore-friendly’ guild that only accepts pre-approved characters. There are many ways around it if you’re going to be a grognard that just can’t help but be the fun police.

It’s definitely way more lame than just having each race of their own type of warrior-monks. They just want an easy one-size fits all solution to avoid having to make up lore for every race.
If a race can be both a priest and a warrior, they can be a paladin.
As always though, RPers can create better stories than those of the Blizzard writers and will be able to with the addition of paladins for every race.

I want to play gnome druid, and I like the idea of gnome paladin but am not so crazy about paladins in general.
No official announcement. Just people speculating based on the new Tyr’s Guard quest line added in 10.1.7 and the recently datamined Tyr’s Guard tabard possibly coming in 10.2
