The reforming of the Tyrs Guard, a secret order of Paladins that dedicated inprotecting Tyrs Crypt.
So to be a paladin you’re an overglorfied graveyard keeper of a dead robot.
Like bro what… this will definitely be the way they’re going to push every race Paladin probably with some one tyr mount for all the non “lore” friendly paladins.
The opposite of the Light isn’t the fel though… and lightforged warlock headcanon is the same reason Wardens have some mastery over the fel and are easily corruptable.
Since using the light since cata has always been on a belief system, i wouldn’t doubt the existence of Sargeri Paladins/ priest.
I never said it was. Lightforged are Lightforged because they dedicated themselves to eradicating demons and embraced the Light.
I mean, if you’re going to justify demons being Paladins and Holy Priests, then why do you care about lore for new Paladins? You’re already okay with justifying bad lore.
The Grand Army of the Light , also called the Golden Army ,[7] the Army of Light , or the Lightforged ,[8] is a faction of enlightened races led by the naaru who rose against the Burning Legion. After the fall of Argus, the draenei’s finest warriors followed the prime naaru Xe’ra across the cosmos in an eternal war to bring about the Legion’s end. Since then, other survivors of the Burning Crusade have joined the ranks of the Lightforged.[1]
This isn’t Warhammer.
So again, if you’re willing to justify the bs lore we got for Warlocks and Man’ari, you shouldn’t have any issues with some weird new Pally lore.
Until Legion we had at least a bit of it:
Humans/Dwarvrs were Knights of the Silver Hand
Draenei were Vindicators
Blood Elves were Blood Knights
Tauren were Sunwalkers
Even after Legion we got 1 race with their own lore/reason for Paladins
Zandalari were Prelites
As far as the guarding of the Tomb, well, keep in mind it is possible that Tyr will be restored/returned to us in some way so the Tyrs Guard will become more like the Knights of the Round with Tyr taking the role of King Arthur.
I really think their complaint is based on what the Tyr’s Guard was/how it started and not taking what it can/will become if certain events happen, like why guard the tomb if we get Tyr back?
I expect nothing but want much. Why can’t we have glyphs to make spell effects look different on different races? Silver holy spells for night elves, Pandarian elementals for Pandaren shamans, fire spells for Sunwalkers, purple spells for Vindicators, brawler animations for non-Pandaren monks etc
I mean the answer is art load. But given that we already have glyphs in the game it’s hard not to be frustrated.
They’re literally complaining that they’ll use this to justify other Paladins.
Complaining to complain about OP thinks is bad lore that may justify more Paladins, while being okay with bad lore that justified Warlocks and Man’ari.
More like you need to think. What I was gathering was they think that the reason for all other races to become paladins is to defend the tomb of Tyr. They evemn said
So the justificsation of becoming paladins, for new races, is weak.
Using the lore of the Tyr’s Guard and events going on in game, with a possible ending, here is the lore/reasoning I came up with for paladins being opened up to all races:
With the restoration of Tyr, the Tyr’s Guard, once dedicated to protecting his tomb, now swear themselves to his service, becoming his agents across Azeroth, spreading his ideals of Justice, Sacrifice, Order and Compassion to all people of Azeroth. New recruits to the Guard swear to up hold those ideals regardless of which race they are from.
