At this point you’re either being purposefully dense to dodge the actual criticism here or your reading comprehension needs some serious work.
They charged you $60 for the expansion+boost, and an extra $20 for the chance to earn a transmog set not everyone will have. AND, with the month of game time, they really only charged you $5 extra.
Lighten up Francis.
The transmog is “free” if we go in with the mindset that the WoD/Legion/BFA versions didn’t have one AT ALL in their $60 versions. The transmog and mount was added to the $60 version at no additional cost.
it’s a bonus with the mount, you don’t even have to pay extra. you just click on the back of the mount and get it as a secretish bonus
Lord some of you players really need to stop crying over having to work for something …enough of this crap of stuff being handed over just cause you logged in…work for bloody mog.
Psst. It’s not just because we logged in. (It’s because we spent $60-$80 on a pre-order package, if you didn’t catch it).
I understand working for getting gear, working for getting achievements, working for earning and getting PVP rewards, even working for being real good at pet battles.
I can understand a short quest/quest line to unlock this xmog set with some minor story flavor on top.
I don’t understand this situation and why I have to grind and rely on RNG to get something that I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR WITH REAL MONEY.
Do you understand this?
Wow you paid 80 bucks just for an xmog quest? You didnt get the expansion, a mount, a weapon enchant, and a free month of wow with it as well?
You got ripped off.
Stop clutching your pearls, nancy.
Just be patient guys. Just play the game and before you know it you have completed it. It seems slower for you guys since you are expecting to have it immediately. I barely even notice I now have 19/40 without even really farming for it.
I’m not going to argue that it’s an annoying quest I agree with that.
There’s two ways of getting this. I think each day you get 4 or 5 off your first or second kill and then it drops down to the low level rate. In less then two weeks you’re guaranteed to have it.
The 2nd is get a group together and grind it out between 2-4 hours.
What I was annoyed at was that you could only use it on a level 120 characters but as of last night I could use it on a level 1 so I was relieved It was just a bug.
That feel when the player base is so used to meaningless timegating, even on misleading promotional information, that they defend it, that they CRAVE IT.
You must love going to a store to buy groceries only to get an ability to assemble what you’ve already paid for over the next several hours/days/weeks.
Well, to be fair, if you’re still willingly playing at this point after everything Blizzard has done (and failed to do) over the past years, there’s a good chance you’ll bend over and happily take anything else they want to inflict upon you.
You’ll see this more often as more people continue to just leave, and those who remain are disproportionately the ones who insist Blizzard can do no wrong.
It’s already very easy to recognise the same couple of names involved every time there’s a rabid defense of the indefensible going on.
Probably. You have a year to get them. You could probably get all of them in a couple months without farming, just by regularly playing the game.
This isn’t timegating , this is just a grind, I got it done in like one and a half or two hours of grinding , time gating is like the reps where I can not possibly get any more rep in any form in a day st some point , you can grind this till your eyes bleed it’s just a low drop rate.
People just want it handed to them so they tend to just complain. i am now 21/40 without even farming it. Just doing my dailies in nazjatar and mechagon and 2-3 heroic dungeons. Oh plus emissary quest. I actually like the quest. It is like a precursor to a mysterious land which is the next xpac
That’s the way to do it. Instant gratification and the need thereof leads to despair.
I think it’s actually fair to want this handed to you. It’s a bonus feature highlighted as part of a pre-order package deal. That being said, I don’t actually think most people necessarily want it handed to them, just that the nature of the quest feels particularly unnecessary and isn’t exactly fun. It would have been better if it was a sort of mini heritage quest, giving players a bit of story flavor without subjecting them to indiscriminately farming nameless mobs for hours on end. If you like it though, more power to you. I’m envious. I hated every second of it.
I just read what comes with it, it does say a quest but let’s be honest, it does not say a quest that gives you a chance at getting the transmog.
So while I think complaining about it is futile, I still believe it was not advertised properly at all. Not from what read anyways.
Yeah it wasn’t false advertising, but it wasn’t exactly honest. I don’t think anybody would reasonably expect such a tiresome RNG grindfest being tied to a pre-order reward. “A quest” could have literally just meant turning something in to your mount.
I think it is not designed to be farmed. But you could farm it if you want to get it faster. As I mentioned, I am now 21/40 and never farmed for it. I just play normally with my dailies emissary etc.
It drops even in normal mobs. I was doing my winter kiss herbalism quest in drustvar. Two ice golems aggrod me while i was picking an herb so i killed them and got an echo. Same with killing naga daily in nazjatar which gave me 3 drops at one go.
