You know the Warrior rework in Patch 1.6 only gave them Bloodthirst right? The other talent change they got for 50% increased OH damage came before that…

In the 14 years i have been around this game watching people who spend all day long arguing with people about why they feel like they shouldnt play something that they enjoy has got to be the most top tier cringe i have ever personally witnessed.
It’s really hard to fathom that one would care so much and be so emotionally invested into telling people not to play something or they are a burden lol.
No one is holding back their guild from doing anything because they play boomkin/ret or whatever else. Just because it parses a little lower than other DPS does not make you a hindrance and its absurd to argue so.

It’s because people like to feel or appear superior to others in video games.
In my profession, one thing that’s been proven true is that if bad people cannot make themselves look good, they will turn to making others look bad. It helps to take the focus off of them. They will go as far as inventing things or bringing up things that literally do not matter in order to accomplish this sad goal.

I really don’t care what spec people play, raid content is being cleared in 20 mans you really gonna sit there and try to tell someone they have to play holy pally if they don’t want too, it doesnt matter, these bosses are going down faster than their mechanics kick in.
Min/Max elitists need to calm the eff down.
edit: i suspect its subverted anger because now another person is going to roll on their precious fury weapon or get loot council-ed gear like any of it matters long term.

All specs are viable for Phase 1 in 1.12. Wait until they release phase 6. “Spelladin”, “Retardadin”, “Lolzret”, whatever you call it, your DPS between Phase 1 and Phase 6 will go up 10-20% while everyone else will go up 70-110% and be disgruntled they have to carry a “viable” Ret paladin.

Back in Vanilla we had a Rey pally that found what worked, and he did some asinine damage in Naxx. He kind of sucked through most the other content though. He wasn’t bottom of DPS chats though, so that’s a plus.
Still, as far as meme specs go, cat Druid is better. If you put in the prep work and g at properly, you can actually come in near the top DPS. It’s a ton of work though. Best to heal and off tank…

We’re just saying Ret is bad because it is, and even with the Spelladin build, it’s the lowest performing spec in the game.

Not really. The gear Ret (spelladin, specifically) wants is generally pretty bad for everyone else. Spelladin uses MCP and Spell Power, so Fury Warriors don’t have any concerns over them taking their loot.
The problem is that the DPS is bad.

Every era gets its phrases that people understand but overuse. Unfortunately loads of games utilize “meta” or “meta game” terminology to reference, correctly, the larger game play decisions that are required to win that don’t necessarily care about your personal choices or performance goals.

gear check bosses like patchwerk in vanilla justified not playing meme specs, but i suspect even he will be wrecked by t2 guilds w/ meme specs this go around.
being a bad spec literally does not matter anymore. I don’t get why people cling to it like Blizzard released a p server difficult game, they didnt.
