Exactly! Not even half of the playerbase is 60, let alone farming end game mats.
Many are just dinging and urging for mats and a lot less are already farming and for now monopolizing consumables.

The people with the most incentive to buy gold are people who suck at making gold.

Imagine a pyramid… The base is moving to the top. Top = already farming / Base = need mats
People arriving to the top/60 are eagger for mats, before starting to farm. Prio and actual meta for fresh 60 is gearing up. The great bulge of players are now reaching 60, this peak on inflation is normal.

The issue is that before as a casual player you could make enough money just picking flowers and hitting rocks to buy your consumables every week and it was no problem.
Now with the rampant botting and AH prices unless you become a Sweat Lord and make a mage and grind ZF for hours you can’t afford crap.
And yes, there are plenty of guilds that don’t care about consumables and are very chill but it’s still a problem.

You are not supposed to “farm at a certain time”. You are supposed to farm a bit every day.
What does this have to do with when to farm gold?

I only farm a couple hours at a time and i have close to 10k gold.
Farming is not a full time job. You just have to be smart about it and most people are not.

Not necessarily, but perhaps those that don’t have the game knowledge required to thrive in this economy.
The issue is that the avenues to making decent gold have become so narrow that unless you know exactly what you are doing everything seems unaffordable/unprofitable.
This only drives more people to RMT as they can’t keep up, thus putting the economy into even more of a death spiral.
Well I guess its time to delete the game then. Everyones supposed methods to “help stop rmt” arent working!

you dont get it do u???Nothing farmed with gathering is even worth your time unless 90% of the bots vanish. The first fix should be mage portals need to have like a 1hour cd or the spell just needs to be deleted and summons from locks should only be within the appropriate zone or the zones around the zone you’re in. This would help a lot with gold sellers. We need more people travelling in the zones later on in the game once people hit 60 anyway
Which consumables are people having trouble farming?
Outside of flasks, which is typically for 1-2 tanks maybe per raid, what’s the issue?
I’ve easily farmed mongoose, giants, and GFPP’s each week with herbalism and killing a few elementals for elemental fires.
Even if I didn’t herb, presumeably I’d have another profession, and even if not we’re talking about maybe 30-50g per week raw buying off the AH depending on how many GFPP you need to pop.
So what’s the issue people are having specifically?
Also, this is the opposite end of the spectrum that sounds completely ridiculous.
What specifically are you doing to farm 10k gold in just a few hours a week?
That to me sounds like a lie or you get 1 edgemaster’s drop per week, other than that, how exactly are you doing this?

So materials are hyper deflated in value? Then buy them all, powerlevel your crafting skills, and use them to create gear.
