A core part of the classic experience (and that includes most of WOTLK’s history), is that you have to make connections and build relationships to get things done in the game effectively.

LMAO! Classic Experience! Yeah, all the social connections folks make while AFK at a dungeon’s entrance or in a battleground will surely be lasting lifetimes.

LFD treats an ailment of the problem of blizzards negligence on servers, not the underlying disease. They need to just merge servers, not ruin the game by turning it into retail with time walking raids.

At this point I’d jsut take dungeon to get the xp.

As currently lfg channel 4 has not been kind to me. So to get my xp I…grind mobs. I ain’t the nature conserving loving night elf I am supposed to be. Bunch of animals are yellow to orange? They are dying. IN droves lol. XP, chance of meat, skins…they had it coming. Even the neutral tagged ones.

Say 6000 xp in a dungeon I get kill x more mobs open world style. Not the most fun that…but it works.

I’d…like dungeon for that 6000 sometimes. NInjya loot? Currently I get no dungeon blues anyway. So no change here lol. Not killing 100’s extra mobs at this point…would be worth it really.

I played WOTLK. It ruined leveling alts for me, so many people just sat afk in cities and there was less people to group up with while questing. The open world in classic already can be lonely with the rampant mage boosting, LFD would completely kill the open world. I despised the auto teleport, it blatantly broke immersion and also reduced the population of the open world, especially in old zones. There was no point in making friends while leveling, or with people outside your guild at max level, the social aspect of having to make connections to get things done was largely diminished. Almost none of the time people talk in auto grouped dungeons and there is no accountability when it’s crossrealm. Cataclysm was the nail in the coffin when blizzard had to nerf the heroics because LFD didn’t group people into good comps, or auto grouped in people who couldn’t even use a keyboard and faced no repercussions for making no effort to learn and being a d***

I don’t know anyone on another server… So blizzard is forcing me to merge and now group with them?

Something ought to be done to save the “dead realms”

Have the small realms be ‘connected’ in the same way they did historically, and let the LFD cover all of those. It’s essentially server merging of small servers, without the name collisions of a merge.

I started WoW in mid tbc. My best memories of WoW, from both original tbc and pre ICC wrath, and leveling 1-60 classic, is from forming groups organically and the server community.

LFD is fine. The problem is it’s cross realm, which then necessitated it to teleport the group directly into the dungeon since Cross Realm Zones wasn’t a thing in the beginning.

If they made LFD local, except for factions that have very poor representation*.

*((Even then I would make the pool only between specific servers. This way you know "oh, I’ll always been grouped with either my server or ‘this server’.))

Then I see no issue with it. Anyone who does, clearly doesn’t use the LFG Addons that just prompt you to ‘broadcast’ your request or throws up an acceptance pane for a match.

((Judging by LFG Channel’s formatting. I’d say the vast majority of my server uses these tools to make grouping easier.))

I do think they should do a “Role in Need” bonus. Nothing fancy.

Those still happen even with LFD, especially if youre a tank or a healer. You get 5 of you together from your server and queue up. Unless of course you think travelling to the dungeon is important, then id have to laugh

People already refuse to group up for quests, and just solo quest or buy dungeon carries to level up.

Looking for Dungeon is not the cause of this, you are looking for a scapegoat for the fact the “Community” aspect people preach all about didn’t exist in the state that people claim it did.

Especially not for content that is extremely outdated and people do not enjoy.

LFD is not the cause of all your social issues with the game, it’s the other players in the game doing that.

You literally see this anti-social behavior already in TBCC, you saw it in Classic Vanilla. It’s not a retail thing, it’s a player issue, but no one wants to take responsibility for their own anti-social behavior and instead want to blame it on the tools that make people’s lives easier because it’s easier to blame something else than confront your own short comings.

If you don’t like LFD, don’t use it.

It’s not that hard. If there enough people that feel the way you feel on your server, you shouldn’t have any issues finding groups.

But stop trying to gatekeep things because you don’t like them. LFD is more convenient and better tool for find groups at all levels of play. And with the cross realm and instant teleport it made it more accessible for lower pop servers.
