No, it’s because women until fairly recently tended to fall into that. Even today, what do female players primarily play as races? It’s the ones like blood elves, void elves, night elves, human. . . Very few of them are running around on orc women. That isn’t a commonly desired aesthetic among women, very few women want to be big and bulky. Most men want to be that and if they could press a button that let them have that they would. The only reason it isn’t more commonly seen in society is because people in general are alienated by the idea of hard work for something like that. You ever lifted for any meaningful period of time in your life? I did, for 8 months and the amount of micromanagement on your dieting on top of dedication it takes to even have basic levels of results is a big enough hurdle for most. Keep in mind, you’re on a game where people kick and scream because they find Normal raiding difficult, something you can pug in a day.
As I said, not for most. Most women playing MMOs ARE NOT playing the absurdly bulky feminine races. I gave WoW examples, let’s go with FFXIV now to change it up. Most female players and on that game there are many, are playing the following everything female that isn’t Female Roegadyn who are bulky amazonians. The closest they get to it is Viera which in lore are amazonian, but aesthetically are just basically very sexualized tall women with rabbit ears, they aren’t muscled so much as toned.
Women wanting to be bulky whether you want to agree with it or not is an extreme minority, no matter how much you want it to be the opposite.
The poster child of “androgyny” in the 90s was Marilyn Manson. You know, that totally jacked dude that looked like Adonis, no wait nvm he looked like a skinny goth adult wearing makeup. That is the general presumption of androgynous, that exact body type, small, skinny, and frail.
I sincerely doubt this.
