The day Classic + turned into retail -

no, the monk casual retail zero

Your inability to attempt to think on your own doesn’t make what I said any less true.

SoM had summoning stones and faster leveling from the start. SoD did not. SoM had a long list of QoL improvements you can look up, very few of them were in SoD.

It’s a temporary seasonal mode, it was only ever meant to last between its release and TWW/Cata release.

So you don’t think the very slow vanilla style leveling of phase 2 was a major factor in driving people away in phase 2?

Reality doesn’t support your claim as it does mine since a lot of people had already left before those things happened and people were playing phase 2 a lot less than they were playing phase 1.

One shot PvP was the only thing you could point to from the start of phase 2, but that’s not at all “retail” in design. One shot PvP or massively out-gearing people in PvP and dominating them is more of a vanilla trait than a retail one.

Pure delusion. SoD was largely WotLKC and retail players who are used to being able to get into content faster with better grouping features and tools. It was inevitable that they’d get sick of excessive vanilla inconvenience.

Actually a lot of people were hoping for far better QoL than vanilla has since day 1. They came to SoD for warlock tanks and new raids, not because they wanted to walk around the world slowly for 40 levels or level at a vanilla pace.

Phase 1 was less vanilla because the level 25 cap combined with runes hid how slow vanilla really becomes. Many people had half a dozen alts in phase 1, which is not at all typical for vanilla players.

It probably would have been better to use TBC or WotLK as a base, but it is what it is.

It’s a seasonal mode cupcake. Everyone is a tourist.

Did it drive people away in any iteration of Classic? No? Yeah I don’t think the vastly reduced grind people face here is what drove them away.

Don’t even engage with these people. They do these same posts at the end of every expansion and post the same stuff on an endless list of alts. Tried to have good faith arguments with them when Cata was announced. There’s literally no hope. Click their portraits and put them on ignore. You’ll thank me later.

If you’ve ignored me how do you know who Zen is talking to? lmao

Why yes, it did. When classic first launched I doubt half the people who made characters in original classic made it to 60. Half of the people who did only did so to sit in a waiting room for TBCC and WotLKC, which they wanted to play more than they did vanilla.

You understand how this isn’t bait and switch and how you are the outlier here yeah?

If you did nothing to look into the game and just went “oh its based on classic” the only person doing you a disservice at that point is yourself.

who cares what you think? youre a below avg parser shaman and none of the “retail takes skill” carried over from retail to classic as they claim.

Oh, you doubt it?! Well then that must be the fact of the matter!

Classic was massive. Sorry to burst your bubble.

This is one of those situations where a citation is actually needed. Nobody cares about the conjecture of someone who doesn’t even like Classic.

I’m glad for it. I can level my alts, make gold to send to my main, delete the alts, rinse and repeat.

P1 keeping the game the same systemically and in design actually 100% was bait. They rug pulled the entire SoD-playing Classic community soon as P2 prepatch was announced.

Ah yes, classic parsing, the true epitome of immense skill and challenge in World of Warcraft.

You have zero track record proving you are anything more than a nobody and you will never post it

Where is your evidence of this, otherwise its speculative.

Whatever you say, Nancy.

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who enjoys playing the game. Why design a game where the sole purpose of it is to stop playing as fast as possible? I’ll never understand retail’s playerbase and modern day Blizzard.

I believe that you believe this. I, and apparently others, do not. There is nothing for blizzard to gain here by doing this. Just because you dislike the changes doesn’t mean there is some grand scheme going on.

It isn’t classic, never was, its a game based on classic. “Based on…” doesn’t mean “accurate to…” otherwise Ed Gein would have lived a WAY more interesting life than he really did.

Classic is also just a title in these rereleases. Classic means old WoW at this point.

And you as well, my fellow bovine. =)

Except you wouldn’t, you would complain that it wasn’t classic enough and that you need a new one.
