The Data Now is clear to me

People really do want Dungeon finding tools…. It’s clear on Twitter and here by a large number.

So the deal now is game design philosophy… That is a different group of people all together.

The only place I see this change received positively is Reddit. It’s popular only on Reddit, that’s all I need to know that it’s an unpopular decision.

Game design engineers… They study players for years and make changes based on unperceived behaviors…

Reddit polls put RDF ahead of no RDF, wasn’t even popular before they announced.

where is this data compiled?
who analyzed it?
can you back it up with a sword?

gross, who would willingly go there?

But, they said they want to let players play the game the way they want to play… except for finding dungeon groups… then you have to play the way BLIZZ says you have to play.

Hypocrites

Even there it isn’t received fully. The reddit poll is 60% in favor of LFD. If the trash heap that is reddit polls in favor of LFD you know it is a garbage change to remove it.

Oh yeah, you’re right. Almost 60% on the reddit poll want RDF vs 35 who don’t and 5 who don’t care. Interesting.

99% of players dont care enough to spam the forums on multiple accounts about this. So reddit/here means nothing.

What’s the sample size? And I’m sure I don’t need to point out how absurdly biased a poll will be when Blizzard does something controversial… I’d be satisfied with a Blizzard survey or a third-party with a really big sample size and polling from places OTHER than the ones known for the recreational outrage they attract. But anything short of that is certain to be rife with bias and/or foul play.

I don’t think the numbers for something like that would ever be allowed to be seen. Ever.

Blizz didn’t show any sample size, or even performed a survey (wotlk survey’s are leaked, this wasn’t a question on it.) They legit made a decision without community feedback, and then said this is what the community wanted as a whole.

I don’t think it’s an entirely outlandish idea to assume that when they make a controversial decision that doesn’t stand to directly make them a ton of cash (like boosts or a store mount), it’s probably based on the internal polling that we know they conduct.

Edit: There is a third option actually – The devs don’t always need to make decisions based on popularity if they feel that it’s genuinely the best direction for the game. I hope that’s the case here, and if it is, I happen to agree with them completely.

That’s exactly my point here. They must have seen the results of player feedback and removed it as a precaution because players were ramping up… Server stability perhaps?

Reddit disagrees with my opinion, their opinion shouldn’t matter.
Reddit agrees with my opinion, it’s obviously the right choice!

What feedback though? They referenced nothing. (Edit: There was no survey with this question. ) Most community feedback is positive for LFD. Feedback for LFR (not in wotlk anyway) is the only I consistently saw with negative feedback. LFD with tweaks would have been ideal imo.

Yes, they make changes like this based on some sort of science… Only they know what results and or experience they want to bake into the game. They are programming you as much as these games…
