Seriously, multiple threads constantly demanding the death of raiding. Every single day. Raiding isn’t the only activity in the game, but they are the most iconic activity that has been here since the beginning and made this game great.
The raiding community is already dwindling due to the multiple sources of high item level gear and the removal of tier sets and trinkets that are actually good.
I don’t recall the community being like this in earlier expansions such as BC and Wrath. Is this some modern instant-gratification community that has taken over? How does raiding gate anything? The game is more accessible now than it ever has been.
If raiding was gone or cut down to one difficulty or something, I would have no reason to play this game, and I’ve been playing since 2005 through the good and the bad.
TBF the cow has a point. Tauren are so far the only race whose heritage armor is tied to a raid boss victory. So that thread isn’t so much about death to raiding, as pls Blizzard stop forcing us to play along with your terrible storytelling.
Most people who don’t raid would stop complaining about raiders if raiders stopped trying to dictate how we play, what loot we can get, and what we can do.
Honestly, we could do without one tier of raiding. Remove N, it serves no purpose. LFR is for the experience only, and then H and M have their achievements.
Literally what world do you live in where this happens?
The only truth to your statement is the fact that raiders do complain about the loot non-raiders get. But not out of jealousy, but because it devalues raiding and further reduces raid participation, making it harder to recruit people. But that’s an entirely different issue.
Raiding is a minority community, and story stuff like Heritage Armor shouldn’t be gated behind raiding because it’s a minority activity. It’s always been a minority community, at least since Wrath.
That said, I see no reason to interfere with raiding either. It’s a perfectly legitimate activity that many people love and hold dearly. Just because it’s not the primary form of engagement for the majority masses doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it.
I’d just like it if they put raiding content behind raids and not stuff like heritage armor.
Because I do not care to raid, nor go on “crusades” to stop an obvious elitist from raiding. The original rant you made has nothing to do with my progression, it has to do with your hyperbole. You know it, that was your way of deflecting.
Why is it too much to ask for someone to do an activity they typically don’t do? I hate pet battles, but they give rewards/rep that I need to further my raiding goals.
I agree with OP, there seems to be widespread lambasting and crusading going around against raiding these days.
I hypothesize it’s something to do with the world first race highlighting the content, and people sharing their hatred because they misinterpret passion for elitism.
Also for those saying it’s not a crusade, your pope doesn’t have to send you on a holy quest against the Saracens to qualify something as a crusade.
New or returning player hits 120. Wants to progress his/her character because this is an MMO. Notices that World Quests and Warfronts give the same ilvl gear and can rngforge into the best gear, all while playing solo. Why spend more time for the same reward?
But those weren’t to remove raiding entirely like the op suggests. That was just a loot assigning system, that honestly I didn’t poke my nose into much because I rarely raid.
