I use an arsenic based shampoo to maintain my toxicity.
my “truth” is backed up by 15+ years of forum outrage.
so let’s hear yours.
at what point, was the community happy with the game?
…maybe the first 6 months or so after launch?
since then, it’s been nothing but complaints.
every new game is “the wow killer”.
every slight change to anything is “going to be the death of the game”.
people are apparently always “leaving in droves”.
there are constant complaints about blizzard “not listening to customers”… but which ones should they listen to? …it’s just not possible to cater to everyone, when people have vastly conflicting opinions/ideas.
so… back to the point, when were people happy?
Mop was when I was happiest in wow.
pandas are going to kill wow.
kung-fu panda is for kids.
why are we being forced to grind rep?
we need to grind rep to be viable for raiding.
blah blah blah.
Yeah I remember that but I loved the pvp. It was nice to have actual content that gave pvp rewards.
My quit line was “expletive pokemon what is this?”.
I love pet battles now… If old me could see future me she would /spit.
the pve’ers didn’t.
censor was the bane of their existence
Yet, they got this.
UNPRECEDENTED amounts of this.
Like… newsworthy, articles on the internet, all the streamers covering it levels of feedback.
…and they muddled it all up with systems upon systems and doubling down on timegating.
Blizzard desperately needed a win after BFA, and they gave us Shadowlands.
They need to start listening to their community. There’s plenty of feedback, but less and less every day as they hemorrhage players.
They got plenty of the feedback they asked for, the kind companies quite literally pay researchers to generate for them, and managed to create a product that a significant amount of their playerbase actively dislikes.
This is leading even the most hardcore of fanboys, which used to include me, to seek out other games and once they see how the other side lives it’s very hard to be satisfied with this weeks 20 minutes of story and juggling a dozen endgame progression systems they don’t like.
That’s really really bad for a game that lives off of nostalgia and sunken time fallacy.
WoW has longtime quoted “No king rules forever” but that’s taken on a meaning they certainly couldn’t imagine at it’s inception during Wrath.
Its funny seeing people investing so much time and energy into WoW anymore. I’ve been playing Blizzard games since I was 8 and now 33. Blizzard was THE standard that all companies should follow. I given up on them and sub is almost ran out. It’s sad because I always supported them through it all and have a ton of Blizzard merchandise and pretty much all my life I dedicated myself to this company. Dreamhaven is basically the new Blizzard. I will play Diablo 4 and D2:R, if D4 is a complete failure then I’m completely done.
I however have been playing FF14 here lately and its been enjoyable but I cant give full feedback on that since I’m not at endgame or played it enough. If you get seething mad at Blizzard or want to troll them, why waste your time or energy?
17 years of forum outrage.
Just because you choose to only focus on the negatives, doesnt mean the good isnt there. Im sure in your 15 years you have read every single thread
Anyway, enough mocking your messiah complex. Happiness isnt a switch, we dont go from seeing complaints to praise, but the LAST time people were happy would be legion, MOP had some good forum times, Wrath saw lots of positivity, but more important less complaints. Which unfortunately isnt something you quantitate there isnt a metric for “complaints not made” there are always the whingers here, some 15 year veterans of whinging who only ever see the negative.
People are looking for validation and most of the time people write before thinking. Immaturity and toxicity are allies.
people aren’t interested in the good.
every time someone dares to post something mildly positive, they’re called a shill or an employee, or are told they’re bucking for mvp.
today is the first time in recent memory where there are not one, but TWO positive threads which the trolls haven’t destroyed yet.
nope.
people screamed about not being able to get legendaries… then blp was introduced.
then people screamed about not being able to get the legendaries they wanted, so a vendor was introduced.
not enough bloods.
too many bloods.
not enough account-bound stuff
the usual “not alt friendly” gripes.
…and it’s amazing i can even manage to remember that much stuff from that long ago… those are just the few which immediately came to mind.
Right…because Ion proved to everyone that he HEARS player input BEFORE they pop a cork and start quitting back in WoD when he said they were removing flight without even polling the player base. lmao.
Sorry guy…this company deserves the derision its been getting for a while now
must be nice to be able to perpetually tick off so many paying customers and then have white knights telling them all to stifle for the company, lmao
usually by grabbing the steering wheel and turning it in the opposite direction.
#DadJokes #SorryNotSorry
its where deluded players actually believe Ion and company CARE what they think and will take input from the playerbase seriously BEFORE they start screaming and unsubbing, lmao
Ion is a human being just like all of us. The amount of vitriol that the community flings his way is beyond acceptable. We must maintain positivity as a community in order to make progress. Having a reputation of being negative as a whole is not a good look, nor is it constructive in many players’ efforts to meaningfully convey feedback that seeks any sort of change they desire.
Ion is a human being just like all of us.
yawn.
he accepted a job position with a job description with expectations of some semblance of success.
‘human beings’ leave positions EVERY…STINKING…DAY when they cant handle the responsibility.
now…knight for me some more with some other hokey excuses.
Having a reputation of being negative as a whole is not a good look, nor is it constructive in many players’ efforts to meaningfully convey feedback that seeks any sort of change they desire.
hmmm…gee…yeah…now if only we had some example of Ion KNOWINGLY doing something REALLY stupid some time back that irritated nearly the entire player base to one degree or another…thinking…thinking…thinking…OH…Ive got it…yeah…WoD…flight…we’re removing flight…just taking it out entirely and we didnt even poll the player base. We’ll TELL you what you like to play in a video game, lmao
If this were an offline game, sure…its a one shot…fine…but it aint.
This game has had over FIFTEEN YEARS to get it right and somehow they STILL keep screwing it up even having data from all these years to use as a guide as to what NOT to do, llmao
go talk as someone else guy…Im seriously not even listening to you at this point.
Rahkeetahp, I respectfully disagree with this misinformation. Ion was not at the helm during the WoD flying situation. Tom Chilton had the reins at the time. Ion did not become the game director until 2016. Ion does not deserve any blowback for WoD’s flying situation. Thank you for your understanding.
but the community needs to check its self if we’re ever gonna turn this ship around.
The community has no bearing whatsoever on the direction of this ship. The only reason the forums still exist is so players can maintain the illusion that they actually have a voice. Blizzard has proven time and time again that they don’t give a damn what any of us has to say. I’m sure there’s developers that care, but as a company we are just wallets to them…not people.
