The community is extremely toxic

She’s not talking about Blizzard.

https://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/120220/InDepth_Why_Was_Blizzards_Real_ID_Such_An_Issue.php

An article on it.

No WE don’t, They need to start the process, and a really simple way is through positive reinforcement, they can choose to reply, (just like they choose not to now), and they can reply to positive feedback, the more people see this the more they will want to make feedback positive to engage them.
Its really simple but it works.

I don’t see the problem here.

People are tired of their BS, especially when it comes to alts and these power grinds. If causing a stir got it hotfixed, I call that a win.

I don’t give a damn if you think it’s ‘toxic’ for paying customers to be fed up with being strung along.

Players that are mainly left are the Loyalists, Addicts or Achievers. The loyalist will stand by Blizzard no matter what. The addicts hate the game but can’t quit and the Achievers they just want everything and they want it now without actually having to do what it really takes to get it all. Glad i’m not a dev of WoW.

Personally i don’t think there is any going back for Blizzard.

at no point in the games life, has this ever happened.

it doesn’t help when everything they say is taken out of context, twisted, made to fit a particular agenda, then perpetuated as a meme.

which players?
looks like there are plenty who are happy with it.

beta is for testing, not for players to pretend they’re honorary devs.

Yeah, because it was a terrible, horrible, no good, bad idea that led to one Blizzard employee being doxxed and would have led to much worse behaviour.

Like how death threats don’t exist on Twitter or Facebook?

Or how customers never treat retail employees horribly?

It will get worse as more people have enough of SL and its issues.

Why? They won’t listen one way or the other. They only want to hear that everything is great and perfect. They don’t want to be reminded of the game’s flaws., otherwise they would actually listen to beta feedback.

There is absolutely no way that Blizz chose to do the things they did because of toxicity. It would never make sense to do things against the community because of some divide. It most likely is a combo of cut budget and them legit thinking somethings were such a good idea that even constructive feedback through alpha, beta and PTR would not sway them.

The community has some toxicity like most online games do. But it’s not the reason the game is in the state that it’s in.

Good luck with that, this is the forum.

Anyone who has spent any amount of time on the forum knows that the outrage crowd has always thrived here.

i mean its human nature. We complain when upset and go silent when content. The fact people are complaining isnt in question, they always complain about something, but we complain more when things are bad. Like i said, you can judge how well the game is going based on forum activity. lots of complaints = bad. some complaints = good. No complaints = games dead.

I understand your logic and want to agree but that’s really not how it works here. Players here rage constantly. It doesn’t matter what Blizzard does the players on the forum will be there frothing at the mouth screaming and demanding to speak to the manager. It’s gotten worse over the last handful of years, but the outrage crowd, in general, has gotten worse over every single aspect in our lives. This isn’t a Blizzard-only thing, the outrage crowd has their little fingers in every aspect of life anymore.

They have been getting healthy feedback for a long time, but how long can you say something in a quiet normal voice until you have to start screaming to get someone to pay attention to you.

You be a well-adjusted normal adult and walk away when you aren’t having fun anymore, this is a video game. That’s all it is, just a video game.

If you’re having fun then play. If you aren’t having fun then leave some decent feedback. If they like your feedback they may change something, if they don’t like it then they won’t change it. This is their game, not ours. They can do whatever they want. If we don’t like it then we pick up our ball and go somewhere that we do like, we don’t froth at the mouth and demand nonsense. We act like good consumers and stop consuming their product.

“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”

Friedrich Nietzsche

There is a lot of negativity in the world, and you can let it eat you up and poop you out - but you can never really change it. When you see something that upsets you, trying to fight it usually just makes things worst and eventually you turn into the kind of person you are fighting. I’ve seen this occur a multitude of times, on many forums and different platforms, people get consumed with anger and fight a never ending war.

So it is best to just kick back, have a laugh and enjoy life outside of it all. When someone inevitably insults you, just accept it and don’t react as there never is any winning in this insane internet war.

Developers dont post on the community forums. These forums are for us to discuss stuff and the only information put here is from the community mods who post hotfix info, some items of news and etc. But they aren’t developers.

I’m not saying there doesnt need to be more communication about game stuff, but this isn’t the place for it. This place is a washing machine of overblown aggro and them posting serious information here would be, well, bad.

What we need is some separate site where they can give talks, let us know information and what they are working on, changes made and why (or why not) and etc. Putting anything here is just not a good idea.

Just gonna go ahead and ignore you, forever. Quitting is a poor option and there isn’t really any competition to this game that I can go ahead and pick up and enjoy as much as WoW. Ignoring the problems and simply quitting the game will not fix them. There is nothing wrong with getting louder as long as the reason you’re doing it isn’t foolish.

Stomp your foot then, it does nothing. Players frothing at the mouth are more than likely disregarded. You do you. lol
