The colossal waste of professions

Yeah and I can still occasionally sell them.

World of Warcraft

That’s the name of this game. Let me restate it with highlighting:

World of WarCRAFT

Hey Blizz, you see the part I highlighted there, the word that is literally embedded within the name of the game, the part that says CRAFT?

How about some devs devote say, I don’t know, but I’ll pick a number, 5% give or take, of their time to that part of the game that is LITERALLY in the game’s name instead of the less than 1% that apparently has been put into it.

Or is the plan to rebrand the game as World of Wargrind, World of WarRNG, or some such? If so, then let’s get on with it.

Maybe this will be one of their big reveals at Blizzconline, who knows, not this silly dumb cow, that is for sure. Guess I’ll mosy out to the pasture and have a snack.

/moo :cow:

I just wanna know when we’re gonna get PvE badges again.

But yeah, they had an awesome idea with the Crafters’ Marks system… but entirely dropped the ball by locking them behind absolutely INSANE grinds, that by the time players finally unlock them, they are already useless.

Maybe if CM2 and CM3 weren’t locked behind something that would take months to unlock, it could have been at least useful for gearing up alts.

But nope.

This is Blizz we are talking about. PvErs gotta M+ or nothing.

I was very disappointed to see the potion nerfs that came with Shadowlands. Some new players need healing potions more than once every 5 minutes, while they are learning to “get good.” It makes low level alchemy trash now.

When I found out crafter makr was bop…that was when I said Venari…I don’t really care if you like me.

I wanted the lead off hunter leatherworker to be the maker of 168 gear for my army of leather and mail alts. Ding 60, here is your 168 gear alt. Since its so fun putting on the 151 to get beat down hard in pvp day 1 of the gear grind.

And heroic dungeon crews if well geared are going yay…its the crap 155 new 60. Let me guess you expect us to carry you huh?

Not really…I’d rather make boe 168 gear to skip this crap. As Heroic dungeon has not been kind to me for gear, renown tokens or memories really lol.

Everything is broken in this expansion. It’s as simple as that.

Yep, and that’s why we lost profession perks that enhanced your character - because certain obsessive player types “felt forced” to level professions for their min-maxing.

I wish Blizzard would finally stop gutting the game to cater to the “feel forced” minority.

Only if it isn’t tied to dungeons like last time.

I think the WoD approach to professions wasn’t too bad either.

You could make a decent piece for each slot and upgrade it, but you were limited to 3 i think.

Professions are designed for me to make millions. Not what you said.

BC crafting was good because half the set bonuses were absolutely busted, and ended up better then most raid gear till BT, going into sunwell.

This is the main problem imo. Alchemy is always a steady income while every other profession peaks at the start of a patch and dies out a couple of weeks later.

Eh. Alchemists have almost always been better off just selling the herbs, unless they got lucky procs, which arent a thing anymore.

Nice try Alchemist. I’m still not one and spending hundreds of thousands of gold in your products. :money_with_wings: :frowning:

I only remember two sets being that good, the healing cloth set and the shadow/frost cloth set (I didn’t have clothies back then so I don’t remember the names). However, engineering got goggles that lasted until T6, but then we got upgraded version for sunwell. BS had great weapons, LW had the leg armors, JC was far more involved with colored sockets and bonuses for matching them as well as meta gems that had differing requirements to activate. Enchanting also had a lot more options back then with enchants for almost every slot, and a lot more variety to the available enchants as well. Alchemy was the same as it ever is, though alchemist labs were added to the cities so you didn’t need a dungeon run to craft flasks anymore.

I literally casted shadow bolt as my rotation because of some janky set, spellfire? Maybe. Was a dps loss to cast dots lmao.

At least those professions got new content, unlike archaeology.

Spellfire was the arcane/fire set, I think that one got replaced in T5, though I could be remembering wrong.

The shadow/frost one definitely lasted until T6 though.

Yeah I can’t remember which it was, just remember Sbolt scaled rediculous off it and made everything else worthless to cast unless you was moving.

Yea professions usually get shafted, last expac they were better then this expac. At least engineering wise anyways as the crafted helm was good for dungeons and raids. This expac was good for about 1 week before vendored.

They just call themselves an MMORPG these days. Its actually WoW: Action Adventure/E-sports edition, with a leveling system and some quests thrown in.
