I am not against the change, but would have liked for it to be more organized. Like OP, I too have 50+ toons. My main server Tich is for the ones I play, and then I have toons on two dead servers that are there for loremaster etc reasons. I like to keep those separate.
It would have been nice to have your select 4 in your Warbank stay at the top of the character select screen, and still be able to change servers and see that cluster of toons.
Idk if I explained that clearly or not, but hopefully yâall get the idea
Honestly donât hate the layout of the character select screen, but who with a sane mind decided to NOT put a SORT function on the character select screen? That should be among the first QOL improvement they need to work on ASAP if theyâre going to throw a bunch of our alts together into a menu like that.
Can we at least get the option to resize them? Thereâs 13 classes in game, you donât even have to be an altoholic to have characters not displayed, showing 6 at most is just annoying.
They should have group headings that you can drag your characters into.
You can name the group whatever you want, something like Auction, Raiding etc. Then give us the ability to collapse the list. Scroll through your headings, open the group and select the character.
I think that improving the UI and adding separators/realm lists should be a higher priority but right now it just looks terrible, your characters always have their weapons out so they fact theyâre sitting half time just bugs them out (sword and shields clip through each other, dual wielders have weapons just sitting through their hands, etc). Why not give it at least some basic animations or have them walking around interacting with the various items in the scene, if youâre going to give us a worse screen at least make it look nice.
Yes, that is the problem. If a person enables UI scale â which, for me, is a necessity to combat eyestrain â everything goes haywire. But even without UI scale on, go take a look at all the varying sizes of text and UI elements in the Trading Post UI. Some huge, others tiny.
Itâs nitpicky to many, but to me it shows a lack of care and polish. Itâs gone unchanged throughout the beta. Maybe it magically gets fixed before August 26. Probably wonât.
Yep, canât say I love it. Took quite a bit of time this morning to reorganize them with my alliance first then horde. Iâve always had them on different servers, now they are on one huge list, and I donât like it. Iâll live and deal with it, but was really hoping weâd have servers separate so I could have alliance around one campfire and horde around another. Weird change.
Oh do they mix the factions together?
Itâd be cool if there was an Orgrimmar fire and Stormwind fire for each.
This is my biggest pet peeve.
The char column list on the login screen cuts off half of my 4th/right side character due to how massive the column is.
If I change the UI% in-game, it goes to a decent size, but all the wording/fonts in-game become way too small and grainy. This is especially annoying when hovering over a spell, but also affects the fonts in reputation bars etcâŚ
There is plenty of room in the upper right corner to put the current Realm. The whole single list thing implies that realms are no longer important, which is not true.
Instead of just one group of 4 favorites we should be able to create groups with like 10 or so.
Yes, itâs just miserable. My little gnomish brain is trying to figure out how they decided to order my toons and itâs apparently random. I am so hoping (fingers and toes crossed) that when I put them back in order - it doesnât scramble them again.
Also, Blizzard - please please please let me have them broken down by server again.
The prevailing theory is that the list is in recent login order, with most recent at the top. Also, until they add automated sorting, you can still drag your characters into the order you want them in, and they should stay. I have 4 subaccounts, so it took me a good 30 minutes or so to sort them into character level order.
On a side note, since I have Alliance characters on very specific realms and Horde on very specific realms (and even some on a specific server away from my personal guilds, to join WarcraftPets guilds, for example), I got a bit tired of doing the logout / switch server / login to another character / do the thing / repeat. So when doing things like mog runs, holiday events, etc, I feel like I will appreciate the ability to just switch to the next character in the list, regardless of which server they are on. I still have to switch Bnet subaccounts, but that was explained when they announced the feature at BlizzCon.
It is. But people still do it.
People do it in real life too with all sorts of things like trademarks or whatever.
Of course, Blizzard could fix this issue if each name had some kind of randomly assigned number to it (as is the case for Btags, Discord, etc), but theyâve opted not to.
