Vanilla was so dead they merged servers. And yes the HC addon brought people back, but that’s once again for the novelty of the game mode no the vanilla content itself.

So basically vanilla was 60 levels of leveling content and TBC/Wrath were only 10 each.

That doesn’t change the fact that at max level vanilla is more of a raid log expansion than wrath.

Well except that it was from wrath, maybe less so from wrath classic. But that’s because blizzard mangled wrath classic.

Only if you only PvE and that’s not really classic at that point. PvE servers are antithetical to Classic imo. Might as well play retail which I do enjoy. Raids aren’t really the end game of Vanilla, the people are. Every version after that it’s more about titles and pushing gladiator and lobby game stuff. Vanillas the one virtual world version of WoW that exists.

If you are all happy with Cata that’s all that matters honestly. You really don’t need to try to win approval from others. That being said, I honestly don’t remember much of Cata. I played in a super hardcore guild back then and I do remember DS as people have said it went on for ages, but my perception of the expansion was highly forgettable.

Does that mean it was bad? No, not really. It just means, I likely did not have any WoW moments that stood out for me in the expansion, sort of a plain Jane feeling.

Anyways, have fun and get you some deathwing lol…
Oh, one more thing. I came back to edit this in. Deathwing himself was a terrible fight. That’s all. lol have fun

I mean, ICC lasted a year and there’s no way that it’s going to be that long this time around.

(Long phases will likely be shortened.)

Raiding is 1% of the game. There is really so much to do in Wrath forever. Like many I play 30 ish hours a week and don’t raid. Again Wrath is timeless and people will keep playing or returning to it 1 year, 5 years and 20 years from now. So it’s essential we preserve Wrath. Where Cata is just a quick cash grab and won’t retain players which is why there has never been a demand for it.

What hurt Cata was LFR…

People like to take the path of least resistance… Who can blame them? If it’s easy and “good enough” they will aim low and hit the mark every time…

Most if not all of the “Wrath Content” comes from Northrend and that zone stays unchanged in Cata? Lock your toon to 80 and ride the skies in Northrend forever?

I love Throne of the Tides though. It’s simple, 3/4 boss fights are enjoyable, the trash is mostly good and there isn’t a lot of it, and it’s pretty.

The only annoying things are missing the elevator, and noobs being noobs on the skippable boss (which I personally think is a really fun boss but ppl can’t interrupt/dispel even with weakauras so).

Completely wrong. It’s wild you think that.

You definitely don’t get it. Cata destroys the old world, class design, game design, WPvP and so much more. I want to enjoy Wrath forever and continue my progression instead of having it destroyed by Retail Cata.

There is no reason to log in to my server again when Cata destroys it trashing everything that was amazing about the Wrath server. This is just not debatable, there is no well why don’t you do X. It’s Wrath forever or nothing at all. There are other games to play! Most players don’t want to relive Cata again.

You need to get over it. Cata is coming no matter how much you complain. You’re wasting your time.

I think Classic ends at MoP; or it just goes the whole way at this point.
